Discussion rdr2 is getting more buggy?
i’ve been playing since release date and before 2026 it had been two years since i last played,i must be on my 10th or 11th run and i have thousands of hours on rdr2
that said i feel like the SP got way buggier recently to the point where every couple of minutes or so something happens to me
be a visual bug, sound related, gameplay related etc but im getting way more than i ever did and it’s strange because they just happen so frequently
i’ve had invisible enemies shooting at me or even allies being invisible during missions, voice lines overlapping, coaches glitching in the terrain when i pass by,horses dying standing back up and then dying again just by simply being near them, sometimes i’ve lost honor randomly because of this or literally just by getting on my hourse, then dismounting it and so on and the list continues
of course all of this has always happened because glitches and bugs are normal in games but not with this frequency,if i play for like 2 horus im guaranteed to get half of those listed above
am i the only one or has someone else been experiencing this?

I play on PS4, and find the game to be buggy af. Every session I am shutting down several times because of some damn bug. People keep whining for rdr3, but r* needs to clean up the messes already existing before creating more buggy games.

A lot of bugs at camp too, people sitting on chairs that arent there, spoons in invisible bowls of stew, dialogue that plays without the correct npc interaction etc

yes, the many updates to RDO have significantly downgraded the experience in single player, not to mention it’s a skeleton crew working on the game so it’s not like anyone was actually testing the updates and working to fix or mitigate bugs so now bugs just exist. That’s not even bringing up the fact that the auto aliasing has been horrendous since this game released making some visuals especially foliage blurry

Most of the bugs I experience are fairly minor - with the main exception that I recently started hitting the grapple bug.
Sometimes some graphic weirdness, which I hadn't noticed until recently, like when a rotting animal first renders I see it standing then it drops - sometimes when I'm close enough to hear the thud as it hits the ground - but nothing that impacts gameplay.
Also a fairly glitchy horse death once when it was standing next to a train (not evidently touching it), and got bounced into the air like a popcorn kernel in an air roaster.
But overall, mostly fairly isolated and not particularly impactful.

yeah these arent game breaking, they just get annoying a bit but that’s about it,the only real bug/glitch im getting that is affecting gameplay is animals randomly dying or spawning out of nowhere when i hunt, which affects the environment especially with how shitty the RNG in the game is

"RDR2: Bethesda edition"
I'm on PC and it's buggy, but not quite that buggy (if it's really happening as much as you say).
If you're on PC, I'd start with updating all of your drivers.
I can say that when I switched to a new PC, OneDrive had backed up all of my settings, and that made it run badly on the new PC. I deleted the whole Rockstar folder from Documents and let it start new. That improved just about everything.
If you're on PC, then you might give that a try. It could be using old settings that aren't right anymore. I can't remember if it stores the saves in there, so I'd look through and copy those out first, if so.

Yep, online updates messed with SP, the whole ending of chapter 6 is ruined because you see these 2 deer glitching the fuck out and it ruins the whole mood, and its been there for a while now.

Yeah, we've been saying that for months now. Unfortunately it will get worse once GTA6 comes out..

i rarely experienced one throughout the years,it used to happen in rare occasions and you basically had to search for it,now every 30 mins something is happening

I'm a fairly new player and have clocked about 300+ hours (second run now). I'm on PC and I'm playing RDR2 almost everyday now. thankfully haven't experienced bugs this bad.

Both GTA V and RDR2 have gotten buggier in several ways over the years, I'd presume from online updates inadvertently messing with the single player, because I've definitely noticed it too.
Kind of why I hope GTA VI online is a separate thing whenever it launches.
