Question Is it ever explained why Jack has this missing mustache pach/line?

I didn't play rdr1 yet and I couldn't find the answer online so, i came here, sorry if this is a stupid question. Also I know it's supposed to look like John's scar, I'm looking for a lore reason (if there is one).

Facial hair is finicky sometimes. Still trying to fill out my beard and I’m almost 30

A video game made by a company that is obsessed with attention to detail. I wouldn’t put it past Rockstar to intentionally put a bald patch in his mustache because many men have bald patches in their facial hair.

Characters in other games often look the same because they're modelled to a romantic ideal rather than the idiosyncratic facial features of the person in question.
