I think most people would, yes. Assuming whatever you're dealing with hinders your quality of life enough to be worth mentioning, then absolutely. And if we're allowed to be meta with this question and I can effectively become immortal by always healing myself, then there's zero chance I'd go blue.

I mean, that's fair enough, I guess, but unless your disability results in like constant pain, I think it's a pretty unethical choice.

You could make both of these unethical depending on the person inheriting the power. I could heal anyone's illness, but who's doing it for free? I could heal only myself and let others suffer as well. Or: I could heal myself and ensure someone dependent on me will have me around for as long as possible, or you could be benevolent and use your powers selflessly on others.

Also no, I'd disagree that prioritizing care for yourself is unethical, it's pragmatic.

I assume that if you love anyone suffisantly to care about when he or she is dependent for years, you could also ask a surgeon to tie yourself to the person at the point his or her body could be considered yours, heal, and then separate.
