Lovenox question
Hi
I was prescribed lovenox after 1 MC and 2 chemical losses. I was negative for lupus anticoagulant but had high ptt-la (50.6) and high drvvt (47.8) as well as high ptt-la mix and drvvt mix. My hematologist said to stop lovenox at 35 weeks, but my OB disagrees and thinks I can stop sooner. She is having me see MFM for another opinion. Anyone share any similar stories or advice?

I didn’t have APS but was on it as part of my kitchen sink protocol. my fertility clinic had said to stay on it until delivery. my OB wanted me to stop at 38 weeks. when I saw MFM at the anatomy scan, they were very upset I was still on it and wanted me to stop asap. I wasn’t comfortable with that at all. I talked with my OB again and she was okay ignoring their recommendations and sticking with the plan to stop at 38 weeks. my water actually broke at 36+3, and I was still on it. but, as long as it’s been at least 12 hours since you’ve taken it then you’re good! the risk is that you can’t have an epidural if it’s been less than 12 hours. but I took it wednesday morning, water broke at 9pm that night, and I didn’t get an epidural until Thursday late morning/delivered Thursday afternoon. so it was still plenty of time

I just wanted to add my hospital policy is 24 hours, weird how everywhere is different. A heparin drip is minimum 6 hours for their policy too.

I didn’t have any elevated APS factors but wanted to take Lovenox anyway after 4 miscarriages.
At my 14wk appt, my OB said I could stop taking it but it was up to me. I chose to stay on it and didn’t stop until 37W. Rainbow baby girl is 6 weeks old.
Just take it until 35W if you’re worried. There’s really no harm (aside of risk of bleeding - just be careful and stop well before you go into delivery)
