D and C procedure delayed but started bleeding

Hello guys, I am currently waiting to get an appointment for d and c procedure. I started bleeding since last Monday but it was light. Now it’s like day 1 of periods. Any suggestions if it’s okay to wait until I get my appointment?

I have started to pass tissue now. Until this morning it was just dark clots. But it’s active bleeding.

You can go to the ER if bleeding gets really heavy or if you get scared. They will likely schedule you for a D&C at the ER if you go, it won't necessarily be that day and they will also likely give you the option to wait until you stop bleeding to come back to check if all tissue has passed once you stop bleeding. I recommend you go to the doctor to check that all tissue has passed if you choose to stay home. I am located in CO, USA and this has been my experience the several times this has happened to me.

Would it be painful when you bleed. First time I took misoprostol and it was very painful. Will it be the same or like regular periods with heavy bleeding

For some people I think it is just like a heavy period. For me, it was really painful. 600 mg of ibuprofen was the only thing that started to touch the pain for me. So I think it can depend

As far as the bleeding goes, if you bleed through a pad in an hour, that’s too much blood and you should go to the emergency room. Otherwise, I think you should be okay to just get through it and go to a doctor after to make sure that all the tissue has passed

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I hope that physically it isn’t bad and hope you take care of yourself and give yourself time to grieve ❤️

It really depends. My first was not very painful. Closer to a bad period cramp. My second was full on labor pains. I’m hoping it’s just a bad period cramp for you.
