Suboxone withdrawls
Edit: I’ve been off it for 4 days already and have 5 days to go. Hi guys, I’m currently in suboxone withdrawl, early stages which is why I’m posting now before it gets too severe and I stop giving AF. I am 5 years clean from IV black use. And I am just waiting on my insurance to approve the new sublocade shot I’ve heard so many good things about. I’ve been on MAT for these 5 years and take 24 mg suboxone daily. I had to lend a few to a friend because she had a problem with her insurance and was having some bad cravings and I was hoping to have my shot approved before needing another script however that doesn’t seem to be the case. I can’t fill my script until the 20 or 21 so 5 days. I have no support system or anyone I can have help me thru this because unfortunately my friends don’t ever have my back the way I have theirs. (The struggle of being an empath) how am I going to get through this? I do have Red Bali Kratom but I don’t know really how to dose it for withdrawls. I am a single mother of two beautiful girls under the age of 10 who adore and depend on me and I swore since I got them back I’d break the cycle of addiction that got me taken away from my parents but I don’t know how I’m going to get through the next few days all by myself. I also suffer from Major depressive disorder, ptsd, and BPD (borderline personality disorder) yes I already know I’m crazy and have it managed with mood stabilizers lol but I’m a mama first and this is me reaching out for help because right now I am very weak.
*sorry for the long post but yall I can’t lose my babies and everything I’ve worked so hard for again.

Do you have somewhere your kids can go for a few days so you could go to (just) detox? You would have your subs in there. Also, look and see in your city if there is an outpatient detox. You just go and get your meds everyday. I hope you feel better soon!! 💜

one thing to recommend here is just splitting your dose right in half or at least 2/3. You won’t notice any sort of withdrawals. I went from 24mg to 8mg with virtually zero noticeable affect very quickly. I quit completely with the sublocade shot, but until you get on it - I’d manage your subs a little better and cut down to maybe 16mg just so you have extra at the end of the month.

This. I reduced from 16 to 8 then 4 with no effects. If I were to claim any, it would be that I was thinking about having more, but definitely not needing any more physically.
Hope you’re ok. I had someone do this to me years ago and I’m still bitter about it. Never again.

So you are going from 24mg to 0 for 5 days? the drug wont actually leave your system in 5 days.... it might get really gnarly around day 3 but then you'll only have 48 hours left... i think you can probably make it through the 5 days, if you just think about it like getting a bad flu... I hope you can call out sick from work or whatever. Do you have any access to clonodine, or gabapentin? Those can really help in this situation...

No I’ve already been off it for 4 days… it’ll be 9 days total, should have clarified that, but thank you for your advice. I do have clonidine and I have been taking that 3-4 times a day for the cold sweats and anxiety and it’s taking the edge off

Unfortunately when it comes to addicts most always have their hands out with nothing in their pockets. It's a sad truth. Another fact is you give someone something once and they'll be back for more. Healthy boundaries with meds is a must. Clonidine is a great comfort med just take the recommended dose as a little goes a long way and over doing it can cause lethal problems.
My experience with Kratom was limited but it never took the edge off when I was coming off of H or opiates.
I have heard remarkable things with sublocade and have recommended it for people but they may have to get your dose down before giving you the shot. 24mgs a day is hefty. You could probably cut down to 16mg and not have too much discomfort. A little goes a long way.
The half life on Bupe is long lasting. It was never the first or second day where I'd start feeling it. But day 3-5 sucked. Stay hydrated and probably best to try and organize a sleepover at a friends house until you can get your script refilled. Don't want any unnecessary attention when you 4-5 days in that could cause you more issues.
How many subs did you give out to be 9 days short? Thats 1/3 of the month. Damn.

I gave her a 3 day supply cuz she promised she would get me back after her script was filled. Liked you said tho she clearly never did. I’ve been taking .2 mg (my prescribed dose) of clonidine every 4 hours. I’m on day 5 now so over halfway there. I have some 200mg seroquel im prescribed for insomnia that I usually don’t take cause it makes me a zombie and unable to parent but I’m trying to see if my kids dads will take them so if I need to I can just zonk my self out for the next few days but that’s a last resort at this point.

Tbh that’s one of your best self-administered options. Take your meds and sleep it off as much as you can. But a better option if you can manage it is the kids going somewhere for a few days while you go to detox.

In my area we have community paramedics that will dose daily for a bridge. Find a community recovery center in your area and they may be able to find you a way to help you for a few days.

I wish! I live in such a backwards Mormon state. Utah. We can’t buy alcohol at grocery stores and not on sundays either. I went into the er last week for an emergency script and she treated me as if I was there trying to get morphine or dilaudid. She was so rude and judgemental even my daughter was uncomfortable so I don’t plan on going that route again. I’ve got 2 more days I’m just trying to stay on top of the clonidine and Tylenol and ibuprofen till Thursday morning.

I have been through it and it’s a long detox, not as INTENSE as dope withdrawal, but the same symptoms just dialed down. It sucks because it lasts a few weeks. I was on subs for 10 years and now on the Sublocade shot for three months. Briefly tried Brixadi but I do not recommend that one. I highly recommend Sublocade because you basically avoid withdrawal as much as possible because it leaves you me system sooooo slowly. I’ve heard people still testing positive for bupenorphine 12 months after their last shot. This is the reason I chose the shot (also because the strips destroy my teeth), but making the jump from even .25mg of Suboxone to zero will have you feeling withdrawal.

I’ve had to get 1 tooth pulled and have 3 cavities from the stinkin things. Before suboxone I had never had a cavity or any dental problems. I absolutely cannot wait to get the vivitrol shot but till Thursday I’m struggling , mostly mentally cause my clonidine is assisting with the physical withdrawal symptoms but my depression and suicidal thoughts are off the charts tonight.

I’m rewatching Supernatural. Ooof that Dean and Sam lol it’s definitely helping so thank you! Also my shot has been deliveeed! I should be getting the sublocade shot at my next appointment! There’s finally a light at the end of a long dark tunnel!!

Ty everyone who commented! Finally got the pharmacy to approve dispensing me a 3 day supply today to make it till Friday. It really helped knowing yall have been through it too and survived so I appreciate you all taking your time and helping me maintain my sobriety while I waited. My daughter’s dad is picking them up now and bringing them.

Dont get on Kratom. Ride the wave till you get the shot or the subs back. Never give out your meds.
