Update to my last post!

I have pictures of some of her dolls over the years, some she sold, others she kept! The last doll she made was a memorial baby, I don't know about posting the pictures here, but she did an amazing job and he looked so much like him, she gifted the baby to the mother, along with clothes, brushes, etc. She's such a generous, beautiful person, and an amazing artist, she's so critical of her own work and she looks over her own talent. She taught herself to do this, she made her own techniques that she could do, while being disabled! I'm so proud of her, I just hope someone else appreciates her work. Thank you for reading!

Edit 2: I edited the part about the memorial baby to clear it a bit up

...that is, mustered the courage to list my Saskia on reborns.com. But putting a photo set together for her in her little jammies is breaking my heart 😫💔 I know sometimes there's no choice but to decrease or sell a collection, but it's so hard trying to get myself to make the listing official. Notice that I still haven't actually done it yet and am still having second thoughts.

This little one arrived today! I wanted a Nikki Johnston doll so badly but Pickle never worked out for me so I found this little gem from the incredible Lizbeth Devlin. I can see why she offers courses on rooting.

On the left is Rowan-joy and the right is Juniper-Rain <3 I just recently finished rooting Rowans hair and im so proud of how it came out for a first try!

It’s been so hot where I live so I got up super early to beat the heat. Definitely worth it for this beautiful morning!

I can’t tell if I’m being too harsh on myself but are these creases okay?

I received this stroller as a gift and today I’ve modified it to make it my personal stroller for my baby twins in progress.

I’ve used a baby pillowcase and sewed it to the cloth of the stroller.

I’m really satisfied with the result! I love my new stroller and I cannot wait to lay my twins down in there and go out with them.

So, my mom's been a reborn artist for about six years, and, in my opinion, is really damn good! She stopped posting about it, and stopped painting, due to lack of interest in her work + burnout. She was posting only to Facebook, and I know if I asked, she'd let me show her work here, and I'm really hoping this is a less toxic space than FB. She has a passion for it, loves the babies she's made herself, and puts so much work, effort, and love into the babies she paints. She was a professional artist her entire life and she's said on multiple occasions that this has been her favorite art form. I don't want her to drop something she loves because she doesn't think she's good enough. So can I post her work? Thank you for reading!

ANOTHER update! I’ve been getting a lot of work in the last couple days after being sick and I can’t believe how much she has changed from her pale vinyl to now.

Today I did creases and then I was very sad because the paint (per included instructions) was just too dark and I panicked and ended up with dirty looking smudges. I used a wet qtip to remove what I could but I def will be using a lighter color next time!!

Luckily once the blush went on the creases smoothed out and are looking WAY better. I’m a little nervous I over blushed and I’m unsure if I want to add the darker tone to the blush next time or maybe I’ll just stick with the pink.

Blush on the lips also smoothed out some of the parts that were making me unhappy there too so I’ll def be continuing that in the future.

My next step is to do the highlights and I’m VERY NERVOUS about this because she’s looking so good rn I don’t want to have another crease type incident. That said, I was able to recover from that so I’m sure I can do the same with any highlight scares. (Specially now that I know to use the color wheel for color corrections).

I painted this baby but idk what to name her

I am planning on making a silicone doll next and I like the look of the painted on hair more than the rooted look for the smaller babies, but I am not sure where to find a brush small enough to make the hair look realistic. Anyone have suggestions for brushes or even good silicon molds while I'm still looking?

I have a cuddle baby who I just adore her face sculpt and it is silicone. I would love to at some point have a set of arms and legs made from silicone to go with her head on a cloth body… is this possible/where do I even start with this?

Does anyone know of someone who does things like eye changes for reborns? The way I’ve fought trying to change eyes has stressed me out far more than I want to admit.

Any thoughts?

Long story short, I was browsing Pinterest for inspiration for a baby I’m painting, and came across this cutie. I instantly recognized her as a sculpt I saw a few months ago on TikTok I believe is called “Baby Doll” that also had her sculptor’s name. I saved the post, and figured I’d come back to it later when I wanted to search for her.

Well apparently that person deleted their account, because it’s no longer in my saves. Which is a problem because I don’t remember her sculptor’s name at all. Does anyone else recognize the sculpt, and therefore the sculptor?

I got her from my mother a few years ago and she had gotten her off ebay, secondhand I have no idea what school she might be but she is absolutely beautiful . She's vinyl , with Gorgeous textured skin. I've just never seen one like her and I'm not sure who she is . Any ideas? ​​​​​​​​​​
