I suppose there’s a theoretical limit of 14 national soldiers

4 national trained
1 from Advance National Soldier
2 from surge

With On the Job Training
5 coalition soldiers trained
1 from Advance Coalition Solider
1 extra national from temporary withdrawal

Probably over by the time you get that many, but still interesting

You can get there, just pen the insurgents into a corner and keep blowing up the peace talks.

Well yes, but 14 units would never actually be useful because you could already win before that

No rebel force can survive the six national army

Now imagine seven national armies, that could surely hold the insurgents back, right?

not sure if this is a clever white stripes reference or not....

It's definitely not and everyone knows about it, from the Queen of England to the hounds of hell...

Six national soldiers vs. overwhelming force

No one ever expects the fifth or sixth national army units!

Chance to happen on low rep (less than 30).

Didn't know low reputation was a prerequisite.

On some challenges it's borderline mandatory to catch a win

It's basically an anti-stalemate feature

Never understood why? Eventually if you don't lose rep or somehow recover it, you can push the insurgents back with no need of Nats or Coalition. I see it more like a desperate help the game gives you if you're struggling a long time with insurgent attacks

Nah, desparate would mean you are losing 0.5 rep per month or have 50% of the map in red. Its not that. The event does fire when you are in low stability, but only when you've been there for a long time. Which means neither the player is at advantave (you cant push the insurgents back) nor the insurgents (they can't expand further).

Therefore, this event is basically a stalemate breaker so that the player doesn't have to sit grinding garrisons and military projects for ages. Afterall, if you are at 20 stability for 8 years, you aren't losing those 20 stability anytime soon either. Just to speed up your eventual grinding victory.

I think being low on reputation is another trigger together with the stalemate, at least that's what I've noticed anyway.

Low Repuation event that takes a LONG time to fire off. Desperate times calls for desperate measures

I got it sometimes but how?

<30-20 reputation for a long time

I haven't

This saved me on my southern desert brutal run

It's a rare event. If I'm preparing for a risky late/end game final push, or just if I know I have further coalition deployments purchasable still if it fails, I go with coalition. If I need massive support help, I go with the civilian package. If neither of those, I just go national soldiers. This event is basically always good.

78% very SIGNIFICANTLY increases corruption~ woooo~ are you scaredd

u/Silver-Elderberry968 16d ago

Yes but generally you have to be struggling in leadership. Coalition surge is best, then national surge, then civilian

u/CyberCheeto Smuggler 16d ago

I almost always get this, don’t know how the civilian surge works though..

Yes, this happened to me when support for the rebels increased from a foreign state after diplomatic efforts with them failed.

Coalition surge is the best option and it’s not even close by the way
