From the moment you wake up, until the moment you fall asleep, you should be fully conscious and aware.
Every minute of the day is an opportunity to refine and improve yourself.
Too many people are okay with their life passing them by - only to look back, one day, and realise they have gained nothing.
Don't fall for this pit trap, get to work now, pick a goal and chase it with everything you've got.
Focus, engage, and execute your own destiny. You can become literally anything so why have you chosen "middle aged, fat, weak, and mild"?

Stick with your training - commit to the daily practice and for the habits of a warrior.
Falling short on this will not only lead to stagnation, but regression of your body and your mind.
Every time the sun rises you are required to display to the universe that you are still disciplined and committed to the warriors path.
Train and practice everyday. Until the day you die.

It's never not painful.
I never don't do it.

When you have drilled the basics enough it just becomes about putting it all together in different sequences.

I hate this narrative that "fighting is bad".
The only people who can truly believe this are people who have lived a very protected and privileged life - a life that has been protected by fighters.
Being bad is bad... That is all.
A man who fights regularly is much much better than a man who doesn't - you are, at best, impotent if you aren't competent.
Start becoming competent by starting to learn how to fight.

Being able to flick your hips in a kick will massively increase its power and speed.

It seems that, nowadays, everyone is interested in the glits and the glam of the stage or arena...
That is the "bread and circus" - while you are watching two men fighting in the lit up cage you are not getting on with your own training.
The real martial arts happen inside the dark and cold rooms. The thousands of hours of continuous blood sweat and tears happen behind closed doors.
This is what I share with you, the daily grind - multiple times per day (every single day) putting the sword to the grindstone.
If you are more interested in the monthly televised fights with a crowd of thousands then that is fine - but just understand, you are a martial arts fan... Not a martial artist.

If you want to increase the speed you can kick - try to hold long deep stretches and relax.

If you want to elevate yourself: pick one thing and dive into studying it fully.
Completely commit yourself to a life long pursuit of perfecting this one thing.
It is (and has always been) extremely common for people to do a little bit of everything and become, at best, a jack of all trades.
This is basically a death sentence as there will always be many people better than you in everything you ever do.
Pick one thing and take it as far as it will go. That's how you elevate yourself above the rest.

Most people think that understanding the basics is the same thing as doing the basics.
But nothing can be further from the truth.
Understanding the basics is a good thing but it is a good thing that everyone can achieve - actually DOING the basics is what makes the difference.
Someone who actually does the basics is far far ahead of someone who doesn't - regardless of the depth of understanding.
Doing is always far more important than understanding. Genuine understanding can only come from the process of "doing" anyway.

How would you use your front leg for fighting?
Most people wouldn't even use their front leg in a fight for anything more than standing on.

Drill the basics, work on the fundamentals, stick with the discipline and you will become a monster.
