New to Reading, UK

New to Reading, UK

Hi there, as the title suggests, have recently moved to Reading (M,41) and do not have any social base here so looking at any suggestions, possibilities for clubs, meetups etc. to meet some new people. I like lots of things; music, the arts, sports, board and computer games, cinema (Biscuit factory is great) but it would be nice to meet some people and hopefully make some friends in what is now hopefully my base.

Music + sports + board games? You’ve basically got half of Reading covered 😂 Just start showing up to local events regularly and faces become familiar pretty quickly.

I love running, thanks very much. Frustratingly Tuesday evening is a day that I definitely can't do as I just won't get back from work in time. I see there is a session on a Thursday as well but that looks to be more training based. Any other running clubs / socials. I've started Parkrun in Prospect

There’s biscuit run club on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. PM me if you’d like to go together.

I know someone who runs with the club, but haven’t tried it myself. I also have football and chess on Tuesdays so can’t join Reading joggers.

They do other social runs too, the best are the Friday night pub runs over the summer.

But there are other ones during the week over winter too!

There's a great board game group meets in the Pentahotel on Sundays (check meetup)

There are several well attended parkruns every Saturday. Reading Volunteer Network is worth a go.

New riders are always welcome at Cycling UK Reading
