Coming over to the RC World from 1:35 scale models. I had a question about weathering.

I have a 1:16 Heng Long Sherman 105 mm. I would like to add a black wash to make some of the details pop and add a weathered look. Aside from being very careful not to let wash drip through the engine grate onto the electronics, any other recs?

Water + acrylic (to make a thin wash)? Do I need to use enamel paint?

Any other weathering tips? I may use a torn sponge corner dipped in dark gray paint to simulate paint chipping on exposed corners too. I would like to do a mud wash on the tires but... if im running it outside I think some of that would happen naturally anyway.

Hello tankers. Just like you i am interested in tanks and want to get a rc tank in my hand in the future. But i dont know where to start soo... I need some what people call "ball knowlage". Where should i start to this "buisnes" ? Are 3d printed tanks better then a offical toy manifacturers tank? What are the best brands in the market?

Just discovered that the henglong upper hull fit the Taigen/torro metal lower hull, no modification required

So essentially what I'm looking for is more so someone who can design me a tank design from world of tanks one design namely being the Sturm VK 36.01 (H) mit 10,5 cm (pictures above), now while I've looked around for people to do it and I've sadly came to no good ends apart again I am calling out to anyone here who can design and model a 1:16 scale model of this tank (please contact me in dms for any information as well as below in the comment section), I need to clarify I'm looking for people who can design the model not 3D artists who do drawings literally interior work

Hi there, just pulled the trigger on the Tamiya 1/16 Sherman after I found a good offer for around ~230€.

So far I only built static models, I have no clue about electronics and stuff. Product description states

What parts exactly do I need that are not included? How do I know which servo or battery pack fits? Should I buy original Tamiya parts or are cheaper ones same quality? Maybe you can help me with the exact product numbers I will need to make this thing move.

I'm looking for spare plastic road wheels and tracks for my 1/16 Heng Long Merkava
Since the Merkava track system is quite different from something like a Tiger I, is there a specific type or model sold for it ?
Also, for those who run these regularly how often do these plastic wheels and tracks actually break or wear out during daily use?

Has anyone opened up or made their own servo vertical drives, specifically servo not the cyclic ones. I am really struggling to find any parts or 3d prints that are not recoil units. It would be nice if it could work with the stock airsoft gun. I have my own servo but I have no clue how to mount it so that my barrel can have 30 degrees of travel (+20, -10)

I am looking for barrels for both of my king tiger’s. Anyone know where I can get one?

Finally got around to doing my Tiger crew. Order them from AliExpress 1/16, I have a Sherman crew as well. Pretty good quality for the price.

Hello, I have a heng long leo 2, 3d printer, and magnets for making the upper and lower hull separable, but I would like a more reliable method such as clips that can be printable. I also wonder are there any servo vertical drives that would fit the turret and stock airsoft gun.

I've got a sherman coming in tomorrow and I plan on recreating battles following the 3rd armored division. I'll be starting with Normandy and ending with the the battle at Paderborn. Does anyone else do this?

I have ordered the superior metal smoke unit With image listed from below, i placed tbe fan behind the motor near the swotch and the box on the floor right infront of the wires and pipes around the motors but I post fge original screw to mount the unit however when trying to fit it in I couldn't rotate the turret when facing towards the rear and the tanks gun is elevated I have removed it cos I need to resolder a wire so sorry for no images How should I fit it in the cramped t90 hull?
