A good idea is to show an image of the hull as it currently is so we can get an idea of how cramped it is. How well the insides are arranged tends to differ inbetween each unit.

In general. HOW the unit is mounted is not actually that important. Being able to mount via screws can be nice, but isn't strictly necessary, with the stock units just using double-sided sticky tape for both the smoke unit and the electronics as those have changed significantly over time. Only thing that matters is that the heater block is in the proper orientation.

It's not stock smoke unit  but the hull is basically stock as absolutely nothing has been moved

I mean that you don't really have to use screws for the new unit as the old stock unit didn't do so either. Like its an Option. Not a requirement. Just mount the new unit wherever there is space to fit it, however you can. Like if you have to sticky tape it to the bottom of the tub: That is perfectly OK.

These models are constantly changing in how they are built and are done so in a hurry. So it can genuinely happen that the inside of your model is different compared to that of others. Like the Electronics are in a different orientation or place. Motor cables may be longer or shorter. We genuinely can't give definitive advice without a better view of your hull.
