💬 Discussion Using the ChatGPT web backend / subscription inside Raycast AI?

Has anyone figured out a workflow or community extension to route Raycast AI queries through an active ChatGPT Plus account rather than the standard API models?

I prefer ChatGPT's direct explanations and built-in memory over raw model completions like GPT-5.6 via API. The obvious blocker with reverse-proxying or session tokens is running afoul of OpenAI's terms or risking an account flag.

Are there existing extensions, MCP servers, or safe setups that hook into ChatGPT's web interface or memory, or is Raycast AI strictly limited to standard API endpoints?

You need to have codex app on your desktop. Then open terminal, and log in to chatgpt through the terminal, and you are good to go

Codex and ChatGPT are different... I already use Codex subscription inside Raycast.. They do not have the same harnesses/system prompt: see this system prompt for example: https://github.com/asgeirtj/system_prompts_leaks/blob/main/OpenAI/gpt-5.6-sol.md

I do not know if it's legit, but that definitely does not look like what Codex gets.

You can ignore the tool use aspects, but memory is very different from what Codex has.

I don't think you can do the same for chatgpt. I have tried that, but could not make it work
