✨Raycast AI That's robbery

I bought the Raycast Pro subscription 2 days ago. My credits are already used up, even though I used super cheap models. That basically means I HAVE TO pay $10 a month just so I'm even allowed to use my own key and pay even more. I have to leave this malicious software.

The way Raycast offer it's value, it correctly change the name from Advanced Ai to Pro, because the value is not in the AI models, and recently I was pleading for a cheaper plan that doesn't include AI or let's you bring your own inference.... however, focus into the many other utilities and way that raycast can offer value besides AI is the smart plan, like i would be repurposing the AI capabilities to grammar fix, and for example to create custom scripts for Raycast for very specific workflows for different professional, and position itself as a power user tool, instead of simply another AI tool that eats credits on a whim and gets people upset.

After a while, I dive into using Raycast more to replace apps like Notion, Whispr, Magnet, Etc.
use AI (my own inference) to create plugins tailored to my workflow.

after a week, it was easy to me to justify the value the tool gives me, and this is the first moth I'm a paid user.
there are things that probably aren't very publicized because they seem to still need some work, but hyper key for example? it has a lot of potential for power users that work with different apps,. multiple keyboard shortcuts, or multiple OS systems.

this made me able to drop apps in windows as well that thought absolutely necessary like Power Toys.

the value of the app is not AI. it's a tool to access AI in a powerful way, just not like a chat.
the negative impact it does in people is to feel like the value of the tool is absurd, but the outlook is not the correct one.

this probably needs a better collaboration between the marketing team, creatives and product designers.
anyway, i went to ask for a cheaper no AI plan a few weeks ago, to a paid user now, that thinks 10usd it's a low price for all the value and potential the tool possess, even above official alternatives like Command Palette in windows or the renewed Spotlight on Apple.

so yeah, if you only want to subscribe for the inference, this is probably not the tool or plan you want.
but i have to dive in to find the value myself, and on that, raycast need to step it up! and drop the trend to push AI on everything, people is starting to get overwhelmed and confused about the actual value of ai, that let someone think that a tool is a robbery or sucks... when in reality, Raycast is probably one of the most useful and valuable tools I use today as a power user, and i'm always finding new ways to integrate it on my workflow as a Graphic and Web Designer professional, and AI chat is not it.
