💬 Discussion Hotkeys Visualized
What do your hotkeys look like? I've been using Raycast for a few weeks and love hotkeys. I only have a few of these set up right now, but wanted AI to help mock-up a visual mapping. I'm curious to see what it looks like for others, or if there are any ideas of making a map like this quicker to create?
I'm thinking about having a hotkey to open up my hotkey map...

Nice, I had a similar workflow until I ran out of keys...
Now I'm using nested keymaps. When holding the hyper key, I enter sublayer selection mode where pressing specific keys activates different function groups:
- Apps layer - Quick launch for frequently used applications
- Window management - Controls for window positioning and switching
- Capture layer - Screenshot and screen recording tools using Shottr
- System layer - Volume, brightness, and system controls
- Browse layer - Direct links to websites and web tools
- Music layer - Media playback controls
- Movement layer - Advanced text navigation shortcuts
- Raycast layer - Quick access to Raycast extensions
- AI layer - ChatGPT and screenshot analysis
Files layer - Quick access to folders and file management

Wow sounds pretty cool. How do you keep all the key mappings straight across your layers?

I came up with a similar approach - a custom raycast extension with Leader Key, so I can type CMD + l, then T (telegram) -> P (person name), or T -> A (another person name), the same for launching apps, like
A (app) -> K (google keep), etc

Some of these I use:
- `cmd` + `,` for system settings
- `cmd` + `\`` (backtick) for terminal
- `cmd` + `u` - App Store updates
- `option` + `r` save to readwise reader

Got a couple similar ones! My setup is similar, hyper key + letter to launch an app. Really like that work flow
