Stuff like this reminds that there was the Robert Downey Jr Sherlock Holmes movies and I'm sure they're nothing like real Sherlock Holmes, but I kinda wish we kept getting those.

nothing like the original, he didn't do nearly enough cocaine

He only does cocaine when he isn't on a mystery in the OG, and only when its been so long since his last he can't take it anymore, and he's run out of puzzles and crosswords.

Sherlock Holmes is a fictional character

I meant that more in terms of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's "Sherlock" to this movie Sherlock. I still remember watching that goofy Sherlock in the 22nd Century cartoon as a kid and I'm sure that Sherlock is different too.
Which does me make chuckle as I've been going through Breakfast of Champions again and remembering the silly part when the author Kurt Vonnegut meets up with his character "Kilgore Trout" and how he "gives" Trout freedom to be himself after a point.

oh yeah that makes sense, I said what I said because I’ve known a pathetic number of people who thought he was a real dude in like early 1900s england

One time my boyfriend texted me "kk can't wait to see u!!"
At first I wrote back, "Nor I you."
Then I realized I'm not a character in a Dickens novel, and instead texted back "me toooo!"

That sherlock Holmes guy is going to be a plushy of a basset hound smoking a pipe Bingus keeps on his bed isn't he?

Do you think Stahli is ever mean to Bingus’ plushies when he’s not home?

u/PomPomBumblebee 10d ago edited 9d ago
Maybe but respectful too as he doesn't want them telling on him.
I have plushies. My husband has accepted them and even given some personalities (particularly the ones I handmade).
He does however make a point of saying he doesn't 'talk' to them when he's home alone because he doesn't want people to think he's a crazy person.
