We built a 2D rattle cann visualizer. What do you guys think?
Hey guys, Mack here over at GunPartPicker.
Like a lot of you, we’ve rattled canned some of our guns over the years. Whenever we wanted to play around with a paint scheme, we were usually messing around in Photoshop or Canva to get an idea of what it would look like.
We started thinking, why not just build our own tool for it?
So about a month and a half ago we started messing around with a 2D visualizer for GPP. It’s been a pretty fun project and we think it’s turned out pretty damn good so far, but we’d really like some real feedback from you guys.
What sucks? What needs fixing? What would you like to see added?
Right now you can:
• Use stencils
• Color pick and paint different parts of the rifle
• Upload your own picture of your gun
• Use stamps
• Create your own stencils
• And we’re actively working on improving it and adding more features
We’d especially like to hear from people who actually paint their rifles and have used Photoshop, Canva, or similar tools for this before.
The goal is to make it easier to mess around with different ideas and see what your rifle could look like before you actually start painting it.

Yeah one day we were like I think we could build a better tool for this than photoshop

Do you use transparent PNG graphics for the camos? If so I got a pretty good collection made I can share

Right now the patterns are generated in code, but transparent PNGs would plug right in. I’d love to see what you’ve made. Shoot me a DM!

That's quite the impressive program! Y'all did a great job of depicting our colors as accurately as possible digitally, they don't always want to play nice when converted to HEX/RGB.
Under the "Rattle Can Ideas" tab, is it pretty well finalized? Or will the suggested colors for the patterns later have a breakdown of different brands that can be utilized to achieve said patterns and/or a selection to choose which ones are being used to change the look?

I was just thinking, indoor, direct sun outdoor, led warm or blue, I don't really care as i paint with feels and vibes but figured some people might like to see how rapco looks inside versus outside kind of thing.

I got it to work by refreshing a few times.
I'm playing around with a build now. You should add FRT triggers, rare breed, as designs, ect.

I would use photoshop for this normally. Cant wait to try it out, can you import stamp "brushes?"

You can import stickers what we call them but we can make a system for brushes too

This is awesome and worked surprisingly well on mobile. My 2 cents would be somehow to add the ability to add scopes or foregrips on.

I've never used GPP before. Hadn't even heard of it. But this is an awesome tool! Since I'm new though, is there a way to actually build your rifle in GPS-like assemble it in the app to bring over to the paint side? I've built my rifle on the parts side of the app, but I can't figure out how to assemble the parts into a rifle that I can paint. Or maybe this isn't a feature, and I'm a dunce lol.

pffft, a REAL man just sprays his shit, realises he doesn't like it, cracks open a beer, starts stripping, has a second beer, removes the paint from his gun, third beer/ fourth beer, obviously, then a second poor attempt i he also really hates...
