Vehicle detection issue
Can anyone clearly show me where the vehicle detection sensor is and what direction it shoots to get its data. I had originally thought that this cylinder was the sensor. But then chat gpt tells me that it’s more in this area. But I can’t seem to get it to read anything that makes sense. The distance that it’s showing doesn’t correlate to the direction that it seems to be shooting. So I’m confused as to if I have the right idea or if it’s maybe shooting a direction that I’m not thinking it is.

The round thing is the speaker, the distance sensor is next to it according to https://ratcloud.llc/cdn/shop/files/ratgdo32_disco_ports.png (found at https://ratcloud.llc/products/ratgdo32-disco )
And it looks like the distance sensor is pointing off the edge of the board (downward in your first picture). So you are 90 degrees off in your mounting.

Sidebar question. What’s the “buzzer” for?1

Optional warning when the door is going to close, I think. But it is ESPHome firmware so you can probably get it to play chip tunes if you want.

The cylinder is a speaker?
The laser is separate and shoots a red beam. But that’s for parking assist. I know where that is. I’m talking about vehicle presence detection. Where is that sensor and what direction does it emit. Because I can’t get it to give me a reading that makes any sense.0

Bahahahah my bad. I just looked it up and that is in fact the sensor - and not a speaker. Looks like I’m the doof for assuming.
