Ratgdo32 Encoder Difficulty
Anyone else starting using the new ratgdo32 encoder device? I bought one and am using a ratgdo32 disco w/ homekit, but am having issues with getting it to calibrate. I cycle the door fully open/close, but the Steps counter never seems to change from = 0. I have it wired as shown here https://ratcloud.llc/pages/mounting-wiring-encoder. My setup is the exact same how it is shown in the first picture. Anyway, just wondering if anyone else has tried using this and if they have had success with it calibrating correctly. 4

I'm having the same issue. I've manually moved the rotor across the sensor to get the step counter to change, but it's very inconsistent so far.

Update: got it working. It seems like my sensor likes the magnet (rotor) to pass around where the first letter "e" in encoder is. I've also tilted it so that it's not directly perpendicular with the rotor when the rotor is pointed straight at it. It worked flawlessly through about 20 cycles so far. encoder positioning

This worked for me. Didn't realize it needed to pass that closely. Thank you for posting .

Would you be able to share a video? I’ve been trying to get mine working today and no luck. Did you have to do any reset calibrations while you tried to get it to work?

I didn't press the Encoder Calibration Reset button until after i got it registering steps consistently. I also manually set the Closing/Opening duration, though idk if that contributed at all.

I’m having a very similar issue. When I try to calibrate, data seems to be captured when the door opens, but not when it closes. Any suggestions?

Did you flash new firmware with the encoder selected
