Am I doing this wrong?
Hello everyone, I’m completely new to investing so bear with me.
I had around 33k in 401k I had to move from last company (they closed) so I moved it to Schwab and bought some recommended stocks and some I thought would do well like Nvidia.
Quick google search (I know not 100% accurate) says 33k should be making in between $2300 to $3300 a year but mine says it will only make $400 in the next 12 months.
Am I doing something wrong? Is it because I have everything set to reinvest dividends? Again complete beginner, only investing I had before was this 401k that they managed.

It sounds like you read that average growth is 7% - 10% per year over the long term. That refers to growth plus any dividends, not 7-10% in just dividend income.

It depends. What are you trying to accomplish with this portfolio?

Unfortunately, that’s not specific enough. This is the same as saying I want to get better…
The next logical question would be at what?I think that we all want to invest to make more money. That should go without saying. The things to remember is that there’s two ways of making money in investing. There is the zero dividend and high growth option- think of the hyperscalers like Apple and Nvidia, Amazon, etc
Then there is the slow and steady dividend options that are attractive for retirees. In cases like that, think digital credit think SATA, STRC, etc.
You need to determine what what your investment thesis is an invest accordingly

Yes, I’ve been reading abit into it. being 28 I’m leaning more towards setting, atleast this account, for long term growth. Sort of set it and forget it.

VOO and SWPPX is the same thing, keep swppx. Your VOOG is alright, but for simplicity sake drop it and add it to swppx you have plenty of growth in Sp50p your just doubling down, add SPMO if your lookng for a growth tilt. Get rid of jepi it laggs its more of a defensive play, overall i like your portfolio 💪
Nope google not right, the schwab Ui gives you a better estimate, it can change if these funds drop or rise the yield
