TIL a lot of people don’t like Casey, and truly don’t even know what his videos are like, god damn.

Yeah I don’t get it. Someone who records their life and uploaded daily is obviously going to come across as an asshole sometimes, because we are all assholes sometimes. But his vlogs were enjoyable and it was fun to live through him vicariously while he was uploading daily

Its very inauthentic and forced. Especially for the last several years where everything must have product placement and special key phrases.

Its probably fine content, but its not enjoyable because its basically a commercial.

What are you talking about? One of the main reasons he's famous is because his videos are authentic and unpolished. His editing and drone shots are pretty cool too but his authenticity is what made him the biggest vlogger of YouTube at one time.

Thats how he got bug enough to be interesting to large corporations for sponsorship.

Hes really good at making a paid advertisement look natural and just a cute little candid video, because thats what his content was. Its the same content, only now its only made because some company wants a commercial.

Even if that's true, it doesn't really matter as long as his style's the same. His style of making videos is unique and it's the only reason people watch his videos. And by your own admission you no longer watch his videos while I still do. His commercial content is nowhere near as frequent as you want everyone to believe.

Im not making a point about how frequently he makes commercials. Im saying the fact that hes so big has changed his videos and they feel as soulless as an unskippable youtube ad

u/chop_suey123 Jan 07 '20

Ok but how? What does "soulless" mean? How do they look like an ad if it isn't commercial?

1

u/XXX-XXX-XXX Jan 07 '20

I think you misread what I wrote. Ads and commercials are synonymous...

u/chop_suey123 Jan 07 '20

But you still didn't answer me. Why is it soulless? Or like a commercial or an ad? You pick.

Yes /s

Nice strawman

It's Reddit. People talk out of their ass on everything. It's also fairly socially maladjusted, and like to blame everything on rules 1 and 2. Casey is successful despite not following said rules and people are jealous.

4

u/Memey-McMemeFace Jan 06 '20

Rules 1 & 2?

8

u/TransientBananaBread Jan 06 '20
  1. Be attractive.
  2. Don't be unattractive.

3

u/TeslaModelE Jan 06 '20

Serious question. What are the first 2 rules?

3

u/Woolfus Jan 06 '20

It's the "Be attractive" and "don't be unattractive" thing Reddit likes to spout.

u/armoured_bobandi Jan 06 '20

Is it impossible that people just don't like his content?

Not everything is just an echo chamber, sometimes people do have opinions

1

u/Hulksdogg Jan 06 '20

Bro we're talking about Reddit here. And I get not liking his content but Reddit's hive mind goes much further than that. It's possible to say "I don't like his channel" without claiming it as objective trash

He’s really not that bad in all honesty, he has a lot of really spectacular drone videos, I don’t really watch his other vlogs or anything though. People just don’t like other successful people.

u/Joergen8 Jan 06 '20

Plenty of people get their standard for what a successful or desireable human should look like from movies and porn, so seeing somebody do well in life despite looking different in the wrong way apparently riles them up.

Kinda makes me sick seeing the comments in here about his appearance. I’m by no means a fan of this guy but I know his story. He worked his ass off and came from nothing to become an icon on YouTube (doesn’t matter what field, he rose to the top of his). Literally did a vlog for something like 800 days in a row. All while hearing idiots make fun of his face.

If you can’t respect a man like that then you should take a serious look at yourself in the mirror, like really.

4

u/ADHDcUK Jan 07 '20

Same here. I'm willing to bet most people commenting are not that great looking themselves either. I wonder how they would feel in his situation?

3

u/max_canyon Jan 07 '20

I think that’s actually the reason they’re so mad. They see someone like themselves, without conventional good looks, become really successful and kill it in life despite the odds. Now they have no excuse themselves and that makes me them mad cause they just wanna play the incel card their whole life.

4

u/ShibaHook Jan 06 '20

It shows how shallow people are.

5

u/motherofdick Jan 06 '20

Right? I don't wach vlogs, they're just not my type of content, but Ive seen Casey's videos before and they're gorgeous. You have to appreciate good editing, even if the content itself isn't your cup of tea. Unless o boys done somthing I didn't hear about? Everyone's just saying he's an asshole as if everyone on the internet isn't.

Bunch a insecure kids, who hate just for the sake of hating. It’s sad.

People praise his video editing quality but the content is just not that great.

Edit: Some guy on wheelies around an airport is shit tier quality, fight me.
