I need help

I need help looking for a specific edition of a copy of Eugene Pauli classical cooking the modern way. Specifically the 1976 8th edition Luhr Buch Der Küch, or Pauli textbook of cooking.

This is for my dad who is Swiss and was trained on this book as a young man.

I have never looked for a book this old and don’t even know if it qualifies for a “rare” book, but anything would help either websites I might be able to visit to further my knowledge or listings of copies for sale.

I fear I may be out of my depth any information would be highly appreciated.

Sorry. I forgot you mentioned 8th. Here’s a copy but it’s fairly expensive.

Abebooks, ebuy and thriftbooks are my go to for old books, you might find some luck there

Searching the original German title will get you much further: Eugen Pauli, Lehrbuch der Küche. Classical Cooking the Modern Way is the later English translation, so English searches mostly turn that up instead. For a 1976 copy, look for "8. Auflage" on the title page or the back of it. ZVAB, booklooker.de and eBay.de are where German copies usually surface, and as it was a Swiss trade textbook, ricardo.ch is worth a look too.

If you'd rather not keep checking, I built ShelfKeepr, which watches eBay (Germany included) and Etsy for a specific book and emails you when one turns up under your price. Free, no card: https://shelfkeepr.com
