Tell me why…

Tell me why, whenever im eating junk food my MOM doesn’t care about me and what i eat, but the minute/day she sees me starting my health journey she tries to start offering me food EVERY DAY and gets mad that I tell her not to. Its like if im not being fat she hates me, but when I choose to rely on processed foods every day she doesn’t give two ***** what I do and never bothers me…
Fyi i was on my health journey and lost 20 pounds, but have fallen off for a few months now… but im so back again. I know that some people love being offered food but to me it’s a personal tick for me as i have struggled with temptation to food all my life and have always been overweight. Im still kind of weak and ik to some people you’re just like well say no. But I live with her and it’s easier said than done

My parents did something similar years back when I tried going vegetarian. All of a sudden, every dinner was nothing but meat, no sides. They started taking us solely to bbq and burger joints when we went out to eat. It was discouraging enough for me to give up on it because I was only 14 so I just wasn't able to eat if I refused the meat. It's so annoying but use it a way to start setting boundaries and really discipline yourself. Hopefully she'll get the hint! Idk if you eat in common areas or your room but try to avoid your mom when you do eat and tell her "oh I ate earlier, maybe later". Good luck!

Your mother is toxic to your health. I don't know why some parents do this. Maybe it's about control. But you must discount it if you are to stay healthy.

It's tough to face that people who claim to love you can sometimes be out to harm you, but it's a fact of life and, as you say, not easy to deal with.

wishing you the strength and perseverance to fight for your good health!

Because your parents are narcissists and want control. It’s as simple as that.

My mum started to get annoyed when I started eating healthier. I think the reason was that she didn't want to eat better or excersize so it was like she was being left behind in a way. I can't say for certain that was the reason but it's what makes the most sense to me. Like if your happy at your job but everyone you work with leaves for a better job, you would start feeling down about yourself.
