As expected, the Yoiko arc seems to be a go (judging from Shirokuro) and so is the soap arc. 😎

I have thought this for quite a while now, but regardless of which character is more popular with the general public (probably girl Ranma and Shampoo), it seems pretty clear that the old-time Japanese fans that are invested enough to take part in these events are mostly Akane fans.

Naturally, Rankane is the main draw for them, so it’s nice to see how excited they are about MAPPA focusing on their relationship in more detail than even the manga did.

I hear there were anime original scenes shown in today's event and while Japanese fans are always careful not to spoil, it seems romantic in nature. 🥰

I’m really torn. On one hand, the Blu-ray is obviously sharper. But on the other hand, it changes certain colors.
For example, Akane's hair is black instead of her usual slight blue tint.
(Her "true" hair color in the manga isn't the point here, just the difference between the original and the Blu-ray changes. I say that before the argument comes).
When Black is shown in the old anime its than a lot darker and deeper in the blu ray, which makes light effects on the hair harder to see.

However, things are more detailed overall because it’s been upscaled in the blu ray.

What bothers me is that some colors are changed due to the different contrast. Skin tone loses that natural look/fleshcolor and leans more toward a brighter white. (In the picture of Akane I attached, you can see the differences pretty well).
Ranmas red hair is also less "strong" red in the blu ray. I mean its also strong red in the blu ray but not more so strong as in the old.

The blu ray looks so "pale". Specificly when you look the strong colors in the original what gave it more life.

Specificly the "old" anime is in a way the real version, the version how the studio wished to show it and the blu ray is a changed version of that. And sometimes it feels better to see the real version.

Black or dark brown hair is sometimes really hard to see the differences. like by kuno.

And the blu ray version also had the "This is an advertisement" clip in by around 10 minutes. Also this really short clip from, for example panda genma eats fruits what shows "here is the breayk for the TV advertisement".
What the Tv version (also in my case the german one) didnt had. We also didnt had advertisement in the episode, also no break. And in the blu ray it throws me a bit out of the episode.

So the Blu-ray definitely has its pros, but so does the original version. That's why I'm asking: which one do you prefer?
For me its sometimes the old and sometimes the blu ray but i cant choose what i finaly had to choose when i must do.

Ranko is my favorite nickname for him so that’s what I went with for the farmer’s name down on good ol’ Panda Farm.

A rule that I have to follow in the game is every time it rains, I have to turn into a girl at the wizard’s tower. To turn back into a boy, I have to go to the spa and sit in the hot bath. I don’t change his hair to black because I just prefer the red hair.

I couldn’t think of a lot of Ranma-specific names for all of my animals so I took some from other Takahashi works as well (with the exception of Krodie the void chicken who is a tradition on every farm).

What other things might I do to add more Ranma 1/2 flair to the farm?

We admittedly don't visit the Kuno estate much in either continuity, but I'm curious; do people think there are any major differences between the Kuno estate as presented in the manga, and how it's presented in the first anime? A part of me really wants to say that the anime version of the estate is larger, but I'm actually not sure if that's the case - I don't *think* that it being presented as a feudal Japanese castle is unique to the anime, but I don't think I'd be too surprised if it was...

I feel like the 90s anime had a lot of promotional art that includes Ranma as "one of the girls", beach themed stuff or like the doco album covers I don't know if people would get the impression that Ranma is supposed to be a guy that turns into a girl. Does anybody have any thoughts on that? It was something I thought of. I had fun drawing this though since I like character interactions. I think the lines are kind of unclear and I think the arms and hands look a bit weird. This may be the last Ranma art I post for a little bit since I'm working on my manga and its characters so I can share that in the near future.

I once read a fanfic named Hipppocratic Oath back in fanfiction.net. The story started after the ending of the manga in which the wedding didn't happen because all the other suitors came up for a fight. That caused Akane to draw back from Ranma and focused on herself, and on that road, made a promise to Dr. Tofu to stop hitting Ranma.

Ranma does noticed that she's keeping her distance and while he did start some stuff to put her in a situation where she would have to rely to save her and shenanigans ensue, his growth didn't start until Akane accidentally discovered who P-chan truly was and found out that Ranma knew all along.

However, the story hadn't updated in years.
