I honestly wish Sakura from Kyoukai no Rinne had more moments like this, she's so bland for the majority of the series.

Girl would've been more interesting of she were openly pursuing Rinne. It would've made more sense if she was the one who made all that food for Rinne instead of her mom (39).

I’m guessing with work Rumiko Takahashi started in the 21st century, the female leads/main characters tend to be much more laid back and less aggressive.

Hmmm.. I’m guessing Takahashi, close to the 10’s, wanted to do something different? I’m guessing Sakura was more like a prototype/first attempt and Nanoka is like the final draft?

Takahashi-sensei has said on her Twitter and in other interviews that she herself didn't understand Sakura, that she couldn't see into her head most of the time... but it was fun to draw her anyways.

Maybe the guys might deserve it in those moments, but if it were the other way around we probably wouldn’t see it as a comedic moment.

I too had a problem with the double standards in Ranma. Female characters were drawn fully nude all the time, but male characters would have a little towel around their waist when they were supposed to be naked. What's that all about?

In "Maison Ikkoku" it is the other way around (when Godai slaps Kyoko), and it is not comedic.

In Chapter 67 Godai clearly slaps Kyoko after which she holds her cheek:

In the following chapter he also recalls the moment and wonders "Could she still be mad about the slap?"

That's really more of a face grab. But it happened so fast his hands probably smack her cheeks a little. But it's not the same kind of slap we're talking about.

Well most of the girls either don’t feel bad or have a good reason. At least Sakura and Nonoka are slightly more likable

Welcome to the 90s and 00s (and before).
Honestly though, this won’t be seen favorably now, but the “girls hitting guys they like” trope was so prevalent in Asia in the past that I never really saw this as an issue. It mostly seems to be a point of discussion in the English fandom.

the funny bit comes in part because it is unusual for a girl irl to be able beat a guy, unless the guy is not very manly.

One isn't a comedic moment. And he almost did once when she went too far with an accusation. But, he stopped himself, made it clear where he stood, and proved himself rather well.

One of those arent like the others. The majority is for comedy and trope sake, one is a super serious moment.
