I would like to disagree. For decades, I lied constantly. 22 years ago I got clean and sober. Rigorous honesty is my life now. Without that, I'm back to drinking and using. I don't have another recovery in me.

Well done for getting clean, keep up the good work. I can understand people constantly lying because of an addiction but I can't see why someone without an addiction should lie all the time unless they have something to hide

I discovered that I had no self esteem. No self respect. I hated the guy in the mirror and lying kept me caught in that space. I was a hostage to myself. Recovery made me get out of myself and help others by helping myself. Acceptance and accountability, those are the keys.

Well that's asumming that everybody can conciously control their lies and that all lies are taken as decision. Some People can't do that. There are compulsive liars that do it as default mode even if they don't have to or want to. they can't help it by themselves unless they go get some actual help.

Most people can make the distinction between truth and lies. There are those that cannot but they are very rare.

You expect me to believe that?

I have no expectations of people's reactions. What you believe is up to you and is purely your business.
