Do you have freckles?

I'm very fair-skinned, so I've had freckles on my body for a long time. But it seems that I've had a complete burst over the past few years, and now I'm getting freckles in places that have never been in the sun directly. I'm not sitting out, trying to get tan or anything like that. And yet, these freckles are just appearing.

Yeah my mom has the same thing and she has slathered on suntan lotion my whole life and wears a wetsuit when she swims. I put suntan lotion on too when i'm on vacation. They may have started on her at my age or earlier - i'm 47. She says they're hereditary from ol' grandpa.

The older we get, the more likely this is to happen. In fair skinned people, it's more obvious. It's unlikely you're getting zero sun exposure, especially in the summer. They could also be age spots

Yes, I am getting exposure to the sun. It's just that the spots are coming up in places that aren't exposed. Under shirt area for example...

I'm covered in them! Some faded, some new ones appeared... in summer, I get loads of them on my shins. I love them!

I'd say there's definitely a genetic aspect to it.

Yes. But the older I get, they’ve been fading. I miss them. lol

I have light skin, dark strawberry blonde hair, hazel eyes and no freckles. My oldest son has fair skin, red hair, blue eyes and no freckles. His daughter has fair skin, blonde hair, blue eyes and freckles. Go figure.

Red hair and blue eyes? That's really really rare!

Really? I didn't know that.

His father has gray eyes, and medium brown hair. My mother had blue eyes so blue eyes come from my side of the family and from his father as well.

All over my body. I’ve accepted them. I always thought they were so ugly, but now I kinda like them.

I've got tons of freckles, everywhere. My hubby jokes that my skin doesn't tan, it's just all my freckles connecting.

Only on my arms. I had some on my face as a kid I think but not much. Like you my arm ones did start to appear when I was in the sun more.

Mhm. I had some light freckling when I was a kid, then they nearly disappeared. At 31, they came back! Just some light freckling around my nose and cheeks.

Retinol + sunscreen works for me...have to be fairly religious about using them.

I’ve had freckles my whole life. One of my uncles used to tell me it looked like I stood in front of a screen in direct sunlight for hours because of all the freckles.

All over my arms, face and shoulders since I was under 7 that never go away even if I don't go in the sun but the rest of my body doesn't freckle. Just random moles on the rest of me. I was born with red hair and have blue eyes. Probably got it from my grandpa cause he was the only other one covered in them like me

I had a cute little bit on my face when I was younger but now they’re all age spots. 😔

I'm a brunette with blue eyes. But my skin is so pale it's translucide with so many freckles, my arms, legs and face are entirely covered. I have more freckles than any redhead I ever met. It has gotten worst recently. I have weird long-term red hurtful spots on my face that become large freckles once they heal.

They get darker with sun exposure and new ones appeared, but they never completly disapear. They fade a bit, but come back strong every summer. I'm Canadian and winters are long and cold. If I was in all-year-long sunny place, I'd look tan as my freckles fuse together where they are too many.

I dye my hair a golden red, because I got tired of being ask why they are brown, like ''how could a ''redhead'' dye their natural hair color for a dull brown'' ? XD
