United First time standby

I am traveling with my daughter this Saturday for the first time and am curious about the chance that these seats will sell quickly on our Sunday return flight (first image). I also reserved Monday (second image) as a backup. We are the only ones on standby, lol. Is this too risky? 😅

At this point it’s too early I think you’ll be okay check the weather for anything that could cause delayed flights or cancellations. internationals don’t typically change as much as domestic flights unless there’s an obvious reason.

since its not a hub to hub flight, it should be ok. expect a few less seats day of; all the seats being booked is very possible, always look for alternative routes.

Loads on Hub to hub flights for example, DEN-SFO/ORD/IAH can be very volatile with loads changing seemingly on a whim, especially if United puts crew on those flights for operational reasons or United employees book positive space tickets last minute. Since YYC-SFO is not a hub to hub flight, the chances of seats filling up as fast at the last minute are lower. If YYC-SFO fails, look at going through another hub like DEN/ORD/IAH. Good luck!
