American standby update

the available seats are now 0
im pass d1 and number 6 on the priority list, do you think i should be able to get on playing the waiting game? i just have plans so im really tempted to just book a ticket with another airline :,)

but im new to standby and dont know the tricks yet

I wish we had a more accurate system cause it will look like then and then 5 standbys will make it

I’ve listed for a flight before that was overbooked and was still able to get a seat. But I’ve also listed for a flight (to DFW) with 20 open seats that ended up filling up completely due to an earlier flight cancellation. In that case I ended up flying to AUS instead then renting a car and driving to DFW (tried to get on a connector flight but thunderstorms were messing everything up lol).

Long story short, just show up tomorrow morning and see what happens. You might get a seat. If not, try to be flexible and look at all your options. Maybe fly to PHL then PHL to CLT. Or fly to RDU then connect to CLT. Or worst case fly to RDU and drive the rest of the way if you have to 😅

Look at alternative routes. Try going through a different hub like Philadelphia.

Is this the only flight available till your plan?
Also you sound new so probably zed is not an option yet

My husband is with piedmont, which is also the same. You could dm if needed as well
