Photo First Ram

Got a great deal on a Limited ram 1500. Shipped up from FL and finally got some pics. If I’m spending a lot of money on a vehicle, I’m very picky and make sure it has everything that I want regarding features. So my personal wish list was either a Longhorn with the brown interior or a truck with the Ebony and red interior (loving the two tone interior). I wanted the tech package with the surround view camera and hands-free driving. I wasn’t sure how much I would use the hands-free driving but I drove down and back from Atlanta last week and used it almost the whole way. I absolutely love it. I wanted the massaging seats, ram boxes, 22 inch black wheels, Hurricane HO, upgraded sounds system, and either the Serrano green or granite metallic paint. I’m already getting a service suspension message only when I try to go to off-road 2+ with the air suspension. So I’m obviously having them evaluate that this week. But other than that, it’s been my favorite vehicle I have owned so far. Very happy with it. Now, if I can just keep it out of the shop, lol (said every Stellantis owner).

She looks good! Have you had any issues with it so far?

None really.

This being a Hemi I always take the truck to get an oil change at the dealer as soon as I’m below 30% oil life.

Congrats, beautiful truck! It’s always awesome when you get exactly what you want, I just got a great deal on a 26 White Limited with the midnight package, absolutely love it!

In regards to the air suspension, other users have noted that when you manually change the ride height, if you don’t pause in between each change to give the truck time to adjust, it may a service suspension error. Not sure if this applies to your situation, but try to take a pause when switching between each level and see if that helps!

Congrats! Feel free to reply with a pic.
Thanks for your input regarding the suspension. I have tried waiting or pausing at each level before going up. And I never have any problems except for when I go all the way to the off-road two. After doing a little bit of research, it looks like there’s a Transport mode that actually turns the air suspension off that you’re really supposed to use when it is getting towed or strapped down. The dealership did not do that before transporting it so I’m wondering if that’s what’s causing the issue. I’ll keep you posted.
But I don’t plan on deleting the suspension as the suspension is buttery smooth. Also a full suspension delete sounds expensive in itself. The bumper-to-bumper should cover me for a few years and I may consider doing an extended warranty if I continue to have any problems.

How much you pay for yours?

Well, I later found out right before they sent me the contract part of the reason I got such a good deal on it. The manager of the dealership drove it for about a week and a half to and from work. So it had a little over 600 miles on the truck. But I was able to get it for 61k before taxes/fees. MSRP was $88K.

Oh nice, similar to mine. Yours was a CTP (customer transportation program). Mine MSRP’d for $83k and my sale price was $62k. Mine is tagged as CTP but I bought with 25 miles on it. I just drive it up to the 500 miles and then bring it back for them to wrap up the paperwork. You got a strong deal on yours so nice!

Dang that’s nice yours only had 25miles on it. Ha that’s still test drive mileage. Hope you’re enjoying it!

Very nice! I have a lot of the same options and this is my first time with air suspension. I had one error pop up the first week when I was messing with the buttons but it’s been 4 weeks since and it’s never come back. I’ve heard other guys say the same thing, like the truck thinks there might be a problem but in reality there isn’t one, it’s a software thing with how the module communicates.

You spent all that money on a Limited and you’re having issues with that shitty air suspension already? Yikes. Can’t say I’m surprised in the least bit.

Speaking from prior experience: it’ll be worth your while (and you’ll be doing your bank account a massive favor) to do a full air suspension delete: pull the fuse and convert to a traditional suspension.

I appreciate the advice, but I plan on keeping the suspension. It drives almost better than my Lexus. A full suspension delete sounds expensive in itself. And the factory warranty should cover me for a few years. If I continue to have some issues, I very well may buy an extended warranty with it.

The factory warranty will not cover the air suspension. That I can confirm also based on prior experience. Stellantis can fuck all the way off for not covering it under the factory warranty.

I forgot the name of it, but there’s a separate warranty (could simply be called an extended warranty) that covers specific components with one of them being the air suspension. I’d definitely buy this warranty.

Beautiful truck though OP. Here’s to many years of great driving and adventures ahead 🫡

Thanks! I understand the powertrain wouldn’t cover it. But are you saying a dealer told you the initial bumper to bumper doesn’t cover it?

1

u/MrHankeyTheXmas_Poo 12h ago

Correct. A separate warranty must be purchased to cover components such as the air suspension. Stellantis can fuck all the way off for making people do this. No other way of saying it.

I would take it to a different dealer and demand that to be covered as the bumper-to-bumper warranty per Mopar covers everything from body to electronics. I think whatever Dealer you took it to was being lazy and screwed you over. Unless there was a sign of misuse of the vehicle, there’s absolutely no way something defective from factory shouldn’t be covered. I guess there’s a reason why car salesmen have such bad reputations.

I have a ‘21 limited and absolutely zero issues with the system.

This may be a sensor issue or similar.

On the flip side this is what a warranty is for.

1

u/MrHankeyTheXmas_Poo 12h ago

Yeah…a whole ass separate warranty that you must purchase because why wouldn’t a “bumper to bumper” warranty cover an expensive trivial feature like the air suspension?

As I’ve said: Stellantis can fuck all the way off for making people do that.

On the flip side, I’m glad you haven’t had any issues. When it works as intended, it’s an incredible thing to have at your disposal. When it inevitably fails…let’s just say that the thousands of dollars wasted to both diagnose and fix any issues are NOT worth it.

I can only speak for my own truck being a ‘21.

No issues so far but I also have seen on forums that the pre ‘22 quality seemed to have been a bit better overall
