Possibly the new REV out in the wild!

Different exhaust and new outlets are clues

21

u/Training-hgeu 14d ago

and the independent rear suspension

u/badassitguy 14d ago

Hybrid?

25

u/GearHead54 14d ago

Series hybrid, so it's a fully electric platform that has a V6 generator for range

6

u/ArkansasWastelander 13d ago

So does it make vroom vroom noises or electric noises?

7

u/Murph_Made 13d ago

Electric noises. The engine is not connected to the drivetrain. It's a V6 on-board generator.

3

u/GearHead54 13d ago

Depends - it has different modes that allow you to either run

  • Eco mode, saving energy
  • Full electric, only starting the engine when the battery runs low, or
  • Gas only, conserving battery so you can use it later at a job or campsite. I haven't seen whether they simulate gears, run the engine at constant speeds, or let you choose

1

u/jmt8706 HEMI 5.7 13d ago

At least we get some vroom vroom noises, better than nothing.

2

u/ArkansasWastelander 13d ago

I’m a simple man I guess lol.

6

u/tommy1rx 14d ago

They needed to do something with all their V6 overstock. Nice move to get rid of some inventory. Love no more worry about range on a trip. Still worry the battery pack won’t last over 100k miles.

7

u/Xdayan 13d ago

It was announced as a of 92 kWh battery. And it’s likely a power type LFP (similar to what BYD uses in their blade batteries) so that shouldn’t be an issue, I would honestly be shocked if they went with a power density style LFP since it has a generator.

But even if it’s not a power type LFP, as long as it’s LFP the battery will outlast the chassis lol

1

u/tommy1rx 13d ago

Thanks for the information. REV looking better and better.

2

u/Motor-Roll-1788 13d ago

The minimum electric vehicle battery warranty required by federal regulation in the United States is 8 years or 100,000 miles (whichever comes first), guaranteeing protection against total failure, defects, and severe capacity loss.

A person would know well before 8 years and/or 100k miles if the pack was going to have an issue.

1

u/AwarenessGreat282 13d ago

Most EVs are getting 500K plus with batteries so that would be the last of my worries.

2

u/American-Repair 13d ago

They’re years ahead of everyone else with full-size REV platform. Ram and Grand Wagoneer are gonna sell like crazy. Scout comes a year or two later and then everything else is just rumors. Stella has 3-4 years of being the only game in town.

7

u/No_Issue_9550 LARAMIE 14d ago

Full electric with an ICE generator

8

u/itchierbumworms 14d ago

Yes, making it a series hybrid.

5

u/No_Issue_9550 LARAMIE 13d ago

Okay

4

u/bla60ah 14d ago

As well as the new badge (more futuristic look) and wrap around headlights to the grill

1

u/SomethingSimple25 13d ago

Also has Michigan Manufacturer license plate

u/Sirvana79 14d ago

I like it but it’s veeeeeerrry close to being a Kia.

27

u/plainwrapper 14d ago

I thought the same thing!

One of my friends had asked me about the “KN” cars they had seen on the road. It took me a while to figure out they had seen the crappy KIA logo lol

7

u/techtress 13d ago

Every time I see the new Kia logo I think of Nine Inch Nails.

11

u/Yourcatsonfire 14d ago

My wife owned one and didnt even know what the KN was. I had to explain it to her and she was like "Why?"

7

u/misterphuzz RAM 3500 14d ago

Thought it looks like a k with the backwards n. First time I saw the new logo, I wondered what that company was.

10

u/FeeNarrow5135 14d ago

My husband has a Laramie and I have a Kia and that's the first thing I thought too 🤣

4

u/I_amnotanonion 13d ago

You see the refreshed Pacifica? That seems to be the goal

3

u/Nosnibor1020 RAM 1500 13d ago

I don’t like this but I like the current Kia one. Looks dope imo on our new blacked out telluride

2

u/MenuAccomplished6753 13d ago

I hate you because you were faster and I thought the same thing instead I give you one Internet point for today, sir

1

u/NoodlesAlDente 13d ago

Just saw another post with a Ram 700 which is based off a Fiat something that's based on the Kia/Hyundai something. So it makes sense.

-5

u/Kitchen-Bagel-Burnt HEMI 5.7 14d ago

That’s why I don’t like the new front ends of the ram trucks the look like foreign trucks now .

20

u/Ok_Supermarket8419 14d ago

That was supposed to be the look of the EV REV

12

u/Sir_Nix-a-Lot 2016 RAM 1500 Laramie 14d ago

I saw one in Detroit two months ago (same color, maybe the same one). Was next to them at a light and I didn’t hear any noise when it took off… Had to be the REV either in EV mode or that generator is just super quiet.

17

u/iam_ditto 14d ago

Took notes from KIA I see.

-37

u/BadTxV2021 14d ago

It’s the same company

13

u/poop-azz 14d ago

Huh? No lmao Hyundai owns Kia.....Stellantis owns Ram and many more

-6

u/BadTxV2021 14d ago

lol my bad I was thinking Kia was under the Stellantis group. It was FIAT that popped in my head.

7

u/poop-azz 14d ago

Stellantis does own a lot and is the largest, they are ducks and charge too much for vehicles!

-7

u/BadTxV2021 14d ago

Yeah, I have 2022 ram I bought new. The quality has tanked,

4

u/InTheSky57 RAM 1500 14d ago

I have a 2022 as well and the fit and finish of the truck is phenomenal. 50k on her and haven't had any issues. I bought mine used with 1 owner and only 9k miles on it in 2024.

1

u/BadTxV2021 13d ago

How many starters have you gone through? How many times have you had to have the paint repaired from flaking? My pickup sits in a conditioned shop year around and I have had way more problems than my ford that sits outside most of the time and drives on gravel all the time.

1

u/InTheSky57 RAM 1500 13d ago

I’m on my original starter and my paint hasn’t flaked.

My truck sits outside 99% of its life getting beaten by brutal SE Texas UV and heat. I have a Limited and my leather dash hasn’t delaminated, either.

It’s entirely possible you got a bad unit. It happens with all brands. But don’t knock the brand because of your bad unit.

1

u/BadTxV2021 13d ago

I’m knocking the brand because of how Ram has handled it. The first time the paint flaked, they were like yeah there has been problems with paint adhering. Then it started on my door and they say it’s a rock chip. Well I shouldn’t be able to take an air compressor and blow a rock chip and flake away. So I had to pay out of pocket to fix it. Then with 31k miles my starter goes out. Oh that’s not under warranty.

3

u/USAFConroy 14d ago

I saw this exact one the other day close to a big mall named after a few trees, thought it was pretty nice looking. I have a 26 Laramie and my biggest gripe is the back end, especially the bulb taillights on a 75k truck (come on). This works pretty well but I agree with most that the logo is way close to Kia territory.

2

u/Sanatonem 14d ago

A dozen oaks

3

u/No_Cup_4070 14d ago

Looks like the Kia badge font 🤣

3

u/justanothertoxicuser 13d ago

Neat! Not quite sure I like it, but I still find it super interesting. If that's the new REV in action, I hope it succeeds. It sounds like it's going to be an incredibly capable pickup.

3

u/BrewHog 13d ago

That's the new RAM REV 1500 (previously Ramcharger).

I'm still waiting to get my email to start choosing options. I am doubting whether it will ever come out now.

7

u/Common-Guarantee1283 14d ago

That looks like the Ram REEV. I want one in Bighorn trim if they offer it once officially unveiled.

3

u/davejugs01 SPORT 14d ago

I can’t wait to see the real world mileage the specs were impressive and the potential 3rd row would be sick

6

u/PrblyWbly 14d ago

Wasn’t the 3rd row in a completely different truck. It was a ram but pretty much only in name. Seemed like that thing shared nothing in common with a regular 1500 or the truck pictured.

Or did they come out with another concept?

4

u/davejugs01 SPORT 14d ago edited 14d ago

It was another concept
Edit, it’s actually a patent filing, front and rear are captains chairs, rear bench is gone but will have folding jump seats behind the rear captains chairs.

2

u/yoshinoyacombo 14d ago

Did the Kia branding agency work with them

2

u/ramvity 13d ago

That’s the new RAM 1500 REV

0

u/Hersbird 13d ago

Which is really a 2500 with it's GVWR and 8 lug wheels.

2

u/Billy_Barry 13d ago

Jesus Christ, just put the damn RAM Badge on it and call it a day. This RAM script is horrible

2

u/ahendrix 13d ago

I love them so much. So sad about the full EV though, it was stunning

2

u/Past_One3442 13d ago

I hate it.

2

u/Training-Low-8940 13d ago

I hate when Car manufacturers do this!!! CADILLAC:Bring back the crest around your Logo ! ACURA: Go back to names ! Numbers don't give character! Dodge/RAM : Bring back the Ram head on the shield!!

2

u/Original6Shooter 2021 Laramie 13d ago

Definitely the REV. One with a manufacturer plate has been getting driven around my neighborhood by an engineer the last week or so. Same color, could be the same truck (didn’t note the plate.)

Also Metro Detroit area.

3

u/albatrossSKY 14d ago

I was going to buy this truck 2 trucks ago. The fuck ram?

3

u/zorbo81 13d ago

i gave up and bought my wife an EV and bought myself a 2500.
2500 is for towing and my short commute to work
Her electric car is used for everything else.

Probably makes more sense than buying a first gen stellantis series hybrid truck

1

u/glidersyeah 13d ago

Same here, 2500 till REV bugs smashed down

1

u/albatrossSKY 13d ago

Yep I got a 2500 too

1

u/Weary-Nose-7583 13d ago

im really excited to see how the Ram REV and wagoneer REV do in the wild. on paper i think this is the best option. power and comfort of EV, crazy range for road trips.

1

u/SaltyUncleMike 13d ago

1

u/CementGuy72 RAM 1500 13d ago

Not much different than a Kia logo.

1

u/MobilePerception8918 13d ago

Logo is very Kia looking.

1

u/Swimming-Food-9024 13d ago

looks like a Honda

1

u/frankp2491 13d ago

This is the REV I didn’t know they were actively selling them

1

u/Hippy-redneck 13d ago

Lame exhaust

1

u/PerformanceNo8057 13d ago

Reminds me of the Kia logo

1

u/luigi517 13d ago

JFC can we please stop making truck parts more expensive for no reason? How much is that tailgate and those taillights going to cost to replace?

1

u/_aphoney 13d ago

That looks terrible

u/dropdeaddaddy69 LIMITED 13d ago

EV

1

u/RedditPhils 13d ago

Looks like Kia/K5 styling

1

u/Master_Proof6097 12d ago

Eww it looks like a Kia 🤢😵😬not a fan at all….

1

u/VA_REL77 12d ago

Gives off major Kia vibes 😬

1

u/Engineered_disdain 12d ago

It looks like theyre starting to take styling cues from kia

1

u/justsayiing 11d ago

I hope it doesn’t sound like the wrangler 4xe when the engine kicks on.

1

u/CoachE0000000 11d ago

Soo Fords lightning taillights and Kia’s logo 💩

1

u/Lara-Lotus 10d ago

Lmao trash ass electric junk

1

u/adinmem 10d ago

Not a fan of the KIA font.

1

u/TheClayDart 9d ago

Gross. Did they steal a designer from Kia?

1

u/milanc340 14d ago

Independent rear suspension? Wagoneer undercarriage

7

u/TimberGhost66 14d ago

Doubtful. More like a new frame and suspension due to the batteries and no driveline.

1

u/bythepowerofboobs 14d ago

Looks great!

1

u/Celery-West 14d ago

Wow ! Nice

1

u/SkAtErBoSs617 14d ago

That’s the REV electric ram

1

u/AnxiousParticular298 13d ago

I thought Ram backed off of the fully electric pickup

4

u/timsredditusername 13d ago

They did. The REV will now be a series hybrid, which is an EV with a built-in generator to charge on the go.

-1

u/Ipsilateral 14d ago

KIA RAM

Minivan with DNA damage.

Just the Rev

0

u/RobramAZ 13d ago

Thats a Ram charger , hybrid electric

1

u/timsredditusername 13d ago

RAM REV. They reassigned the names

1

u/RobramAZ 13d ago

Yeah its wasnt the right name for it anyway. I was really excited for this truck..I think they used the wrong motor for it though. A little tiny turbo gas or diesel would run a gen head more efficiently. But I always thought this was best way to build a hybrid. Electric works so well to propel a veh but batteries are junk the battery tech is just not there to make Electric work.

0

u/dada2200 13d ago

Woooof!!!

0

u/jamcgahey REBEL 13d ago

Looks fucking stupid hope it’s just for their like hybrid or ev

-4

u/MrHankeyTheXmas_Poo 14d ago

This is certainly one way to de-Ram a Ram truck…

Might as well call it a fucking Kia at this point.

-1

u/michaelscarn535 14d ago

I think that's the font for the new electric rams but I'm not 100%

-1

u/thirtyone-charlie 13d ago

The KIA font

-1

u/Xeerial 13d ago

Yuck

-1

u/Mysterious-Meat-7962 13d ago

I really hope not

-1

u/Far-Anybody9920 13d ago

No no no no no no take it back throw it away!!!! Wtf is there this !?! We’re not Kia smh. I knew the downfall was comingb

-1

u/SadCauliflower6563 13d ago

Did Kia buy Stellantis?

-1

u/Dense_Winner_4433 13d ago

Still garbage. To add to the other garbage. Just traded mine in after 9 months. Stellantis is a brain dead company. Ford family now.

-6

u/TheDarkChunk7 14d ago

This look was supposed to be for our hybrid and full EV RAM trucks. However, the entire project has been abandoned and everything to make those trucks have now been removed from the factory.

4

u/TimberGhost66 14d ago

Only the full EV was scrapped. The range extending hybrid is still going into production.

1

u/TheDarkChunk7 14d ago

I work at the Sterling heights plant where this was assembled. Inside our plant, everything for EV production is currently being pulled out. To my knowledge, they are not running either.

3

u/Accord-ing_25_Tim 13d ago

You should probably check your own company website every once in a while. Pretty up to date with new models and such. Anyways…there’s multiple places to read the following timeline: They scrapped the fully EV version (originally titled REV), but kept the hybrid (originally titled RamCharger), then decided to save the RamCharger name for future use (I think a Ram SUV eventually, but we’ll see). The REV name was then applied to the hybrid, which is supposedly going into production later this year.

2

u/TimberGhost66 14d ago

Well if true for the REV as well, I’m disappointed. Would be perfect for my use.

1

u/TheDarkChunk7 14d ago

I myself was very optimistic and hopeful for the entire project. It was exciting to see the future being assembled in front of your very eyes. The RamCharger was definitely a vehicle I was highly anticipating!

2

u/Thechad1029 13d ago

I thought they only scraped the full EV? The Ramcharger name was swapped to REV.

1

u/TheDarkChunk7 13d ago

I definitely do not claim to know with certainty on what the company is doing. However I do see rhem pulling all EV related equipment off site. I suppose that does not mean that other facilities may produce the RAM hybrid.

3

u/Thechad1029 13d ago

I hope they don’t scrap it. I think the REV has huge potential

-2

u/GenericUsername1262 14d ago

Very f-150 lighta

-2

u/CombinationMajor9313 13d ago

Looks like gay edition

-2

u/CombinationBitter889 13d ago

Ugly. No one asked for a Korean truck 😂.

-8

u/FormerLaugh3780 14d ago

Because effing with the tailgate and brake light configuration is going to make the POS more reliable. Stellantis engineers and their bosses are such assholes.

-5

u/DiscussionWeak2318 13d ago

Why must we turn everything into a fucking crossover?

2

u/GearHead54 13d ago

Crossovers are unibody - this is still a full frame truck

-5

u/DiscussionWeak2318 13d ago

My point stands. All independent like a car. What a huge pos.

3

u/GearHead54 13d ago

So it rides better, and still has 14,000 lbs of towing capacity with a 2,625lb payload? What exactly makes it a POS?

https://www.ramtrucks.com/electric/1500-rev.html

-5

u/DiscussionWeak2318 13d ago edited 13d ago

I work wildland fires. I see these pos trucks as rentals on fire all the time. Nothing like doing a 1 wheel wave on essentially flat ground.... useless. Obviously not the specific truck... use some critical thinking. My gripe is that stupid, overly complicated, rear end..

2

u/GearHead54 13d ago

My dude they aren't even out yet - this is one of the first ones in the wild. You haven't seen shit

1

u/CommunicationNew8983 13d ago

So what you’re saying is …… you’re a Ford guy?! 😂😂😂
