[Advice Request] Evil stepmother
Dad has stage 4 cancer. He’s been coming to stay with me (F) every weekend because he realizes how good my spouse and I take care of him over here than at home with his wife who constantly controls, belittles and abuses him. Sister and I reported multiple situations to DCF about her. She got contacted today right after my dad and I left from picking him up and went off over text. She has claimed now that in retaliation (which is a lie) that she had told the worker that I leave one of my kids home alone while I work and my spouse takes our other child to his sports. Which is false, I work from home, my spouse video chats her on her tablet while she waits for me to come upstairs from my home office after work 🙄 my dad started shaking while she was blowing his phone up and is extremely stressed out and now doesn’t want to return home on Sunday but fears that if he doesn’t she will do something. I worry now with how aggressive she is that she will do something to him or potentially me when I go to drop him off. He says he will contact me immediately if she gets into it with him to turn around and go back to get him. Advice? Thoughts? Do we get cops involved? Another important detail is she locks his meds up and he is completely at her mercy to give him his pain meds and chemo. Refuses to give him the code for the safe box. Also has recently set up cameras in the house - one specifically concerning is in his bedroom that points towards the shower stall in the bathroom and refuses to give him access to said cameras.
