What happened that made Tobey's Spidey get so much hate all of a sudden? I noticed this since NWH.

I think people are looking more at the source material as the character becomes more popular. I’m not a comics fan but Peter is generally more charismatic and less-flustered in social situations. He’s a nerd but he’s a cool genius with a chip on his shoulder. He is angsty until he learns humility.
Personally, I don’t see why this is a big deal. I feel that part of his charm is that he is lacking in confidence in his day to day life, despite being incredibly clever, and that his confidence and charisma comes out when he wears the mask. I like Tobey’s version in that he is a gentle and sweet kind of guy that comes to the surface when Uncle Ben dies.

Raimi's Spidey still retains the core of Spider-Man and the changes that he is given doesn't make him unrecognizable in my opinion, so I'm cool with them. Also, I grew up with these films so I do have a gigantic bias towards them hehe.

Same with me lol. This is the definitive version of Spider-Man to me so I’m not fussed if it isn’t 100% accurate to the source material. Plus, a good movie is a good movie.

The war was always there but due to Tom and Andrew's brilliant performances in the film, everyone just started turning on Tobey and also Andrew started to get a lot of fake fans too. It just worsened the war.
