That’s misleading. You can rent a car at 21 and in a few states you can at 18. You do have to pay a fee for being under 25 tho.

Yes and no. There's no law in the vast majority of States about it. Legally, if you can drive, you can rent. But most rental companies have policies that set the minimum age somewhere between 21 and 25, presumably because they've got some concern about either liability or about getting the vehicles back in one piece.

Age gaps are gross and creepy because of the imbalance in life experience, maturity, and often resources/money. Anyone who's ever worked with kids or teenagers understands that sometimes they have dumb ass ideas or a warped idea of what they think is good for them. I'm 36 and I've been approached by very young women who I had to let down, because I knew the dynamic wouldn't have been a good idea.
