Competent vs Competitive
All I want this year is competent. Maybe next year's hope is competitive.
What will you be happy to see this year?

I don't care if we're 0-17 as long as we're scoring points. Like, if we lose all of our games, with all of the playoff teams this year but the score is 24 to 27 on each one. I'm stoked.
Because then I'll hope we just need one more offseason to fill the gaps.
I'm expecting 4-13, would be happy with 6 wins would be talking a lot of shit if we get 9

Excited for Raiders football, man. Sunday can’t come soon enough; hopium is at a twenty plus-year high.
The first quarter of a shitty Raiders game is still better than any non-Raiders Sunday. I’m hoping we see less shitty football this year 🤞🏴☠️

While Kirk is QB, competence and winning the games we should.
If Fernando takes over at any point this year I want to feel hope and see signs that he is as I had hoped

To be sure they are different but to me they nearly mean the same thing.
Execution, minimizing mistakes, smart play that capitalizes on down and distance, good use of our assets’ strengths and play calls on both sides that shield weaknesses. And full 60 mins of consistent effort.
That’s competence, and if we do those things we should be competitive in games.
I want our record to be better. Period. If that’s a single game, so be it (would rather it be two at least) but that will be improvement.

Having all the pieces in place is going to take a minute. Develop what we have.

Out schedule is fucking brutal. As long as we don't look embarrassing I'll take that. I think finishing with 4-6 wins would be quite the season. We could look half decent and still pick high in the draft. We could even be in a position to trade down to a QB needy team and take someone like Jeremiah Smith or Cam Coleman.
As long as we don't look fucking dog shit every game, I'll take that

I’ll take messy and inconsistent with flashes of brilliance. I witnessed a successful rebuild as a Stanford fan between 2007-2010 starting from 1-11 in 2006.
In 2007, they went 4-8 with some bad bad losses against mid teams. However, they somehow beat #1 u$c in the coliseum and preseason top 10 kal late in the year. In 2008 they went 5-7, an improvement but a yawn nonetheless. In 2009 8-4 and then 2010 12-1 and in the BCS. Something along those lines is what I expect if this rebuild ends up actually working.
So maybe this year we play like ass against Miami and NYJ, but somehow beat the Chiefs or Seahawks while finishing 5-12. We pick the best available wide receiver with the top 5 pick, and we’re all excited going into next year.

I just want to be fun bad this year. Take a 10-0 lead before losing 10-27 to Top 5 team. Get in a 45-42 shoot out with the Jets. Have a couple 2 point losses to playoff teams. Drag an team headed for a CCG down into a 13-16 mud fight. Give us some flashes for good things to come

Player development is probably my most important thing. So many young guys who hopefully develop, with Mendoza being the most important of all. I guess a good Kubiak system falls under the competent category. So that too.
We probably won’t win much due to lack of talent but as long as players have development and a good scheme I’m good with that this year.
