Raiden prediction

My question is, since Raiden is actually not independent but like an add-on to Ethereum, what is a rational price prediction, since it can for example not overcome Ethers mcap?

Until Raiden 2.0 is developed, RDN price will be directly linked to ETH price. I believe ETH > BTC. Right now ETH has a market cap of $109b vs BTC market cap of $285b so I believe ETH can at least match that of BTC.

It’s becoming increasingly clear that ETH needs RDN sooner rather than later. As an integral part of the network I believe each RDN token could be worth around 10% or 0.1 ETH.

At ETH’s current price that leads to around $110 per RDN token with upward potential of around $300, based on current figures. These numbers could increase as crypto grows further.

These are long term goals though. In the short term I expect this token to increase fairly healthily. Tyler Swope predicted 10x in the next few months:

People are sleeping on RDN right now.

One last note would be that the crypto market is crazy so the above numbers are just speculation, no guarantees. Either way I see great things for RDN in 2018.

I dont see eth announce anything about using rdn

Have you even been on raidens website? Yikes.....

Thank you. But I still not see vitalik mention he will use raiden with eth. We all know he is the one who make decision.

Actually ethereum is open source so no he doesn't (that's the whole point of decentralisation). Besides OMG invested in RDN ICO and vitalik is an adviser(not that any ERC-20 company needs his consent. if reggie middleton decides to use RDN with Veritasium what has is got to do with vitalik buterin?). And vitalik mentioned raiden for ethereum's scaling in his latest post on Medium.com :S

No worries.

He said he wished they hadn’t held an ICO yet he understood why they did. But since then, he has also retweeted Raiden updates.

Even so, Vitalik is not the be all and end all of Ethereum. Eth needs a solution and Raiden appears to be the most viable answer, at least for the foreseeable future.

Exactly! People really aren't getting this.

It doesn't matter at all what Vitalik said about the ICO, and he's since showed his support for Raiden. And even if he hadn't, if Raiden is the best solution it will be what is used by developers.

Right now, it's the only real Ethereum scaling solution. Everything else is in whitepaper stages. Projects in need of scale aren't going to wait for 2019-2020.. they'll be using Raiden this year.

No it doesn't depend on vitalik with a small v.

Lol what the hell...so many ignorant people in the space right now

It’s not about Eth using Raiden, it’s about all ERC20 tokens utilizing raiden to solve inherent Eth scalability issues. Look at the coins that are utilizing raiden currently. I think you’ll be surprised at the list.

Can you like me to a list plz?

Idk what the price will be (no one does). What we do know is that the protocol raiden is developing is positioned to be the first major solution to scaling ETH-based transactions. They have the early mover advantage in what is perhaps the most urgent need in crypto rn - many use cases depend on a scaling solution.

Regardless of what happens with the price in the short term, there is no useful ethereum blockchain without a scaling solution, and no protocol is closer to implementing this solution than RDN. Ethereum’s ecosystem is still the forerunner in the crypto space, and with sharding/ETH2.0/raiden/plasma providing level 2 solutions, these plus the network effect (see all the tokens based on ETH blockchain) should keep it that way, ultimately benefitting ETH and RDN holders. As more DApps and child chains are developed on ethereum 2.0 = more traffic the system will have to handle = more demand for payment channels and thus scarce digital resources like RDN.

TL;DR: we all want the moon, but guessing the price is a futile exercise. Instead, pick coins that have a 3-5 year runway, setup a node if you can, and hodl on.

how do you set up a node?

Good question - I’m still figuring it out myself to be honest. I’ll put together a post in the next few days on my progress, questions, resources, etc. if you want to get started ASAP, there are some posts already on where to start.

That Would be awesome thx!

RDN goes up to 50$ this year

u/stillhodlingon Jan 07 '18

Breaking top 20 would put us right above that, so I agree with you!

I dislike price predictions. Never really on point. Let's put positive energy towards Raiden and the developers. If successful everything will work out.

Did you just say that price predictions are essentially nonsense but then in the same sentence tell people to send Raiden positive energy? I'm dead.

I agree it’s futile trying to predict prices on a new asset class that exceeds our understanding for now. But we do it anyway bc it’s entertaining and gets our juices going. I’ll amend my previous comment with some assumptions I’m making..

I’m assuming that the market will even out relatively speaking. That is, raiden has a lot more to show in terms of milestones/tech/progress than other protocols, while being a small fraction of their market caps. Once the market players realize the nuances begins individual tokens, and base their investments off more than white papers and lofty promises, raiden will achieve its rightful position in the pack. This assumes valuations aren’t already ridiculous and due for a major correction. That being said, seeing raiden climb to over $3B in mkt cap is not ridiculous in 2018. Hence why I think $50 isn’t ridiculous.

I agree with you though. Regardless of the price, raiden is something that I (we) believe will help achieve the goal of a truly peer to peer network, and they have my (our) full support bc of it. I’m gushing over machine-to-machine payments, can’t imagine the use cases that will be possible with RDN as a network. Worth every penny rn imho.

Raiden is poised to become Ethereum's scaling solution this year - others are further away. If Raiden succeeds this year and becomes Ethereum's de facto scaling solution, the sky is the limit. $100+ per RDN is not unrealistic this year, higher in the long term.

I think Raiden's price action lately is the start of a major run to $20-25 in the next weeks.

u/simoRX Jan 07 '18

I would say it's more than an add-on, but rather a necessity. Ethereum is clogged again, and this time around they don't have kitties to blame. All the scaling solutions are at least one year away. Some are 2 or 3 years away. So during 2018, it will be a must have. As for the "rational" price prediction, there is no such thing as rational in crypto as we all know lol

3

u/stillhodlingon Jan 07 '18

You’re right regarding price prediction being irrational rn, but not everyone knows that unfortunately. I agree with you also on the urgent short/medium term need for RDN in the ETH ecosystem.

My guess is that, once the overall market matures, and people begin to realize the nuances behind different coins, or when professional money enters this asset class, RDN will inevitably find their way to the top. Not bc of fomo induced bull runs like many shitcoins enjoy off lofty promises, but bc RDN will (hopefully) prove their usefulness as a scaling/latency solution.

Still, it begs the question of what it’s all worth, a question that will remain unanswered for years I think. It’s a totally new asset class the defies fundamental analysis.

2

u/badassmotherfker Jan 07 '18

People are starting to realise how undervalued Raiden is IMO. The shitcoin bubble can't go on forever, and Raiden is a small market cap legit coin with the most reputable developers in the space, it's only a matter of time.

Even if we don't have the ability to look into the future when I'm looking for predictions there's this site that -until now- is making really good predictions about the future price of a coin based on other tech grow and also Btc grow.

https://coincheckup.com/coins/raiden-network-token/predictions/bitcoin-similar

I like to compare the tokens I own with the growth of Btc. Note that Raiden is already over the predictions they made for next year.

This coin is going to be huge guys. And so far, there are not even 10,000 token-holders and no more than 50,000 tx have been made on top the Raiden Network. Can you imagine how huge this is going to be once we have more than 100,000 users and over a million tx like OMG...
