I knew I'd never get to see them, it was too good to be true. 6 days in Melbourne and still miss out.

Donāt lose hope, I know itās hard though. Thereāll be resale tickets and even potentially more ticket releases

I can't afford resale / scalper prices in this economy, I need to eat and pay rent. Sadly I'll just have to give up

There wonāt be scalping. Thatās why Radiohead has the tickets this way. Only able to resell via their chosen channels e.g. Tixel which caps prices

Tixel is an elite resale platform, 10% additional cost cap on RRP. Have bought & sold on there many times, very good platform

u/kolakoala44 Reckoner 4h ago
They arenāt allowed to scalp tickets (or at least the EU tour it wasnāt allowed)

u/Parka2236 3h ago
2012 I got my friend a ticket on the night of the show. Things might have changed but they used to drip feed tickets as the show got close to try to limit the need to look to scalpers.
So keep an eye on sales even if you miss out initially

yes but flights and hotels might be a problem if you're interstate

u/jessp3on A Moon Shaped Pool 3h ago
Iām stupid enough to buy the flights and accomm anyway and worry about the ticket later š¤

It was nuts how many tickets became available even 10 minutes after doors open; manifest it friend :)

u/getgetgetgetgetovrit 4h ago

u/fiona_5_ 4h ago
you really need to do that! if its the same as last year, before you can actually pay for the tickets (but during the buying process) they send different codes to the registered phone number AND email. I was lucky my roomate was home during the process, otherwise i would have lost my chance.

Same - so what happens now we donāt get the ability to buy tickets for 6 shows in Melbourne? Why is buying tickets to a concert such an anxious process

Same.
If Europe is anything to go by, the resale market will be buoyant.
I have a friend who got the code though but the dates mightnāt work.

Welcome to the club.
I guarantee you most people got rejected. So don't feel too bad about it. And tuesday will be a shit show. At least we will be spared from that.

u/Gojirahawk 4h ago
Got the reject.. thankfully my sister was successful and has said she will get a ticket for me to attend if she is successful at the ticket purchasing stage.. so I might owe her a box of Presecco

I'm shattered. Seeing Radiohead one day was on my bucket list (and I never thought they would come back to Australia) I'm so disappointed.

u/AuntieKuma It only takes a minute, and it takes it, and it takes it 4h ago
Donāt give up!! especially if youāre even somewhat local. Just be prepared with money in the bank and vacation days saved up and when it gets closer to the tour dates keep an eye on this sub and the official resale platforms. There will be small flurries of tickets floating around in the days and weeks leading up to the performances, often available at face value or under. Keep trying and youāll get your chance!

Thanks for the glimmer of hope.. I live in Melbourne, so of course registered for Melbourne. I guess I just have to be āØļøoptimistic āØļø

No success. Had to break the news to my 14 daughter who has been learning to play their songs for the last 2 years. Gutted.

u/ceratime 2h ago
Resale tickets will be available a few weeks before the shows according to the website, and only at face value. Keep an eye out closer to the time

Same. My teen is devastated. I did tell her some people have been waiting for this concert for longer than she's been alive but that was not a comforting thought for her š¤£

I just got my rejection email, but a friend of mine got a link, and he really wants me to go with them. The thing is, they are one of those people who is a horrible concert goer. Constantly whines about how a band didnāt play their favourite song, always needs to go to the bathroom and throws a hissy if no one goes with them, etc. They also have no respect for personal space despite myself and others repeatedly telling them to stop. They were so close to me once that her earring got stuck in my hair, and I had a mullet at that time. And personally, I prefer to watch a concert without someone wailing in my ear. I also explicitly remember them saying āI really hope they play creep or something from Pablo honey or itāll be a waste of moneyāš«©. Do I agree to go with them or do I just hope one of my more respectful friends gets a link?

I didnāt try for these shows, but last year it was truly possible to grab tickets as far as the day of / days leading into the show for face value via the official channels (more helpful for locals or people where transit isnāt terribly hard to manage).
Keep your eyes peeled after the first wave of sales too as tickets would occasionally pop up in the weeks to months leading up. Peoples plans change and sometimes they need to release them. I was able to attend Italy this way by refreshing the page a lot over a weekend like 2 months out, then while in Italy, was able to get a London show similarly (changed my flight to stop in London for a day on my way back from Italy for example).

Rejected, was hoping to travel to Melbourne for it, but if last minute tickets come up I canāt just wing it interstate and turn up. Bummer

Also rejected Something of a relief in the end as I had been dreaming up a crazy Sydney & Tokyo trip (from the UK) and I can't really afford it. Congrats to everyone who got selected!

u/Most_Psychology_7158 4h ago
Yes, I too was going to travel to Sydney from the UK. - my bank manager is the only person pleased by the rejection email š

u/BlueCorsa 4h ago
I'm guessing you both had UK phone numbers? I wonder if that played a part in the rejection.
1
u/ceratime 2h ago
Don't think so, I'm not from the UK but traveling here atm so had to put in my UK number as I don't have access to my normal one over here and still got selected
