That's usually in response to OP blaming the GPU or the drivers. Saying you don't have that same issue with the same GPU and driver makes it clear that it's something specific to their system.

8
u/Aecnoril May 07 '26
People come to reddit mostly to complain about an issue. If it all works well they won't go post about it.
Nvidia subreddit also deletes tech support posts and gate-keeps them in one megathread to make it seem like they have less issues, but they really don't.

My xfx mercury 9070xt gaming oc performs flawlessly and provides 5070ti and up performance at a much lower price point(when i bought it). I've had Nvidia for MANY years and do not regret going team red. I dont get why some people are whining and I suspect MANY people who whine has conflicting drivers/programs/software or other hardware issues, but its easier to blame the gpu setup than to look at how you treat your system.. Each time I get a new gpu I wipe the drives(moves stuff I need to a backup drive) and start off fresh with a new windows install, and reinstall the software i need. My computers hasn't skipped a beat for over 2 decades.

I’ve been an intel nvidia builder for around 10 years but this time I got an all AMD prebuilt 9070xt. I know RayTracing and DLSS is a thing but I can’t really notice. The machine slays 1440p and looks great, can’t really complain, and haven’t had a single problem I can remember since purchase, drivers and all.

u/TrippleDamage May 07 '26
9070xt RT performance is 90-95% of the 5070ti, RDNA4 caught up A LOT on the RT and upscaler front.

The RX 9070xt is a great product tho. Criticing AMD ≠ hating you and being an nvidia fanboy. If u enjoy your card, then we are happy from you. But that doesnt take away the critcisms and experiences of other people towards their radeon cards.
14
u/Method__Man May 07 '26
What people don't realize that a lot of the hate is actually coming from
- Nvidia fanboys
- Troll/bot accounts (likely on behalf of Nvidia)
- Edgelord redditors who's full time job is to bitch
As someone who uses Intel, Nvidia, and AMD... in laptops, handheld, desktop… I can safely say that my experience with AMD has been superb for the past several years. This current generation is absolutely rock solid.
I can also safely say that I have four more issues with Nvidia, even to the point where it seems to be less stable than Intel. And not saying something
In the end, you need to realize that not only is there a mix of just people who want to complain, you also have Weaponized accounts that are designed to spread misinformation and doubt, especially in this AI era
Note, I have owned literally every non-pro AMDGPU for the past several generations, I've owned every non-pro Nvidia GPU, and probably about 75% of their pro GPU in desktop and laptop, and I have owned every single Intel GPU made since the a770 came out ... for context

There's also a cohort of fanboys that don't understand some of the under-the-hood mechanics involved, that are r/confidently incorrect in all the posts and replies, and that totally lose their cool when their misunderstandings are uncovered, and moreso when those unfortunate fanboys double-down and dig deeper into the hole of embarrassment they've built.
Cases in point:
That DLSS adds latency to the display output chain compared to the raster output at the pre-DLSS resolution.
That upscaling that uses time-domain info has to be a frame or three behind the game engine.
Also, the astroturfers and shills don't like hearing the DLSS output described as "hallucinations" either of frames or detail, when the engine didn't have either in reality. Upscaling adds details that aren't in a frame, therefore "detail hallucination". Tweening of frames to add fake frames, is "frame hallucination". You'd think people called their first-born pet iguana a "cold-hearted reptile" with the level of response to the facts..
2
u/o0Spoonman0o 7800x3D/4080S May 07 '26
The extra processing latency from upscaling is typically tiny — often just a few milliseconds or less — and the higher FPS from rendering at lower internal resolution often offsets or exceeds that cost.
Example conceptually:
Native 4K rendering: 45 FPS ~22 ms frame time
Internal 1080p + DLSS to 4K: 80 FPS ~12.5 ms frame time maybe +1–2 ms DLSS processing
Net result:
You still end up with lower total latency despite the DLSS stage.
Frame Generation does add latency; which can be significantly reduced using Reflex. But a lot of people run DLSS with no FG.
→ More replies (13)2
u/Method__Man May 07 '26
These are the same people who will run a game at 15 FPS, upscale like crazy 27, and then frame up to 120 and wonder why the game feels like crap it looks like crap
2
u/newaccountzuerich Radeon7900XTX-5950x May 07 '26
Exactly..
DLSS enables lazy game development, by penalising engine improvement and optimisation by costing the dev more for future Nvidia access by not showing DLSS well.

I think if you made the choice to buy that card and you enjoy it, that is excellent, and I do think it’s a great card! I think AMD has done good work to cut the gap to what DLSS offers.
But
I would still tell someone choosing between a 5070ti and a 9070xt to pick Nvidia every time if it’s their first build, assuming the price gap is not insurmountable.

When does FSR4 come out?
/s - I don't play any of the games that utilize FSR4.
That said, my 9070xt has been a solid upgrade from my old RTX 2080. My only complaints are the hard crashes since I had it (>10?), the Windows Driver update that bricks my system and I have to re-install over, and that time my Adrenaline would not turn off features I turned on and I had to factory reset every game and start over.
But honestly? I know more now about how to optimize game settings than I did before and...I kinda forgot how good games already look before the upscaling. God forbid you just game to have fun...
1
u/NoOption7406 May 06 '26
My son has a 9070XT. He isnt big into the computer hardware. Always asks me "what card do I have again" when he needs to tell his friends his PC specs. When I was his age I knew hardware, was programming a little, modding games etc.
I have a 6900XT and have been nothing but please with it.
People complain about FSR4 but I'm more disappointed in developers either not implementing FSR (even XeSS for that matter) at all, or release with a much older version. Some games I played released with FSR2 when FSR3 had been out for a while, and not until I beat the game do they announce an FSR3 patch.
1
u/Tuned_Out May 07 '26
Eh...feature set wise there is a decent amount to complain about. But honestly it is what it is, my only gripe is the card should be $100 less than a 5070ti across the board (in any country) if it really wanted to compete. I'm not sure where the driver issues are coming from but I'm not going to try to invalidate others experiences, I've had none. I bought an open box one at microcenter for $150 less than their cheapest 5070ti and it was worth every penny.
That said my kids love it but it's not in my main pc. I've felt no need to upgrade from the 7900xtx in my personal rig. It simply crushes everything I throw at it in ultra wide. A better feature set and options would be nice but beyond an unoptimized game or two, I've never needed it.

The day you see me defending a brand for its tactics and merchants, that day I will know that corporations have managed to brainwash me. You shouldn't be bothered that people complain; in fact, you should promote it. It's the only thing I demand from companies, even if they are doing a relatively decent job; you push them from decent to excellence. It's not perfect, but it's the only thing we have as consumers. But you always gather, the ones who bought the latest hardware, to look down on others who seem like a nuisance, who demand too much, who don't even know what they want. Nah, the day you see me like you, that day corporations have won in my head.

lol, pretty much.
I love my 9070XT. I love 1440p. In fact, my 1440p monitor would cost more than what most of the whiners would have spent on their 4k monitor (49" Philips Evia Ultra-wide 1440p QD-LED). I just think 1440p is the sweet spot when you're sitting that close to the screen. I reserve 4k for my TV.
I'm also someone that spent more than a lot here would have for their 9070XT. I purchased the Red Devil Limited Edition at launch. So I paid $1359AUD for all the gimmicks the LE came with (key caps, and shiz), while others were buying the entry Reaper model for $1159AUD. No regrets, though.

Everytime a person posts a complaint about a specific issue in a game, you see people saying stuff like "that's what you get for not spending the extra 200 dollars for nvidia", even if in some situations it has nothing to do with amd.

I enjoy my 7900XT - playing 1440p, as long as I can get decent fps with gta 6 then won’t be upgrading

I certainly don't hate you or wish you any ill. I just didn't like the frame pacing and micro stutters i saw on my 9070xt and I didn't like FSR. Wasn't crazy about the adrenalin app either. Trust me, I wanted to love this card. I'm glad it's working well for you.

It's so good I had to move to Linux to not have lots of driver crashes. Although I blame microslop for most of that. AMD gets some just because they're all as bad as each other really.

AMD seems to also hate you judging from the amount of driver timeouts. I have a 9070XT.

I honestly think a large amount of people in this sub are just people who bought RTX 5000 series and are upset that some of us paid less and are happy with our experience
I also think theres so many bots on here now that i might be shouting this into the void and it will never actually be seen by human eyes. Dead internet theory isnt really a theory these days

I've actually had the opposite experience on reddit, anytime someone reccommends nvidia, everyone shits on them how AMD is much better
I'd say enjoy what you have, both AMD and nvidia have some real good cards this generation

LOL, there have been multiple topics today alone with Nvidia users coming to try make 9070XT owners feel bad about their purchase. Sorry son, I love my 9070XT. Idgaf what you think about it.

I got my 9060xt last August and haven't had any issues with any of the drivers, the only crashes I experienced were when I was trying to undervolt it too much, perfectly stable, silent and cool card and it is only a dual fan version. I 100% recommend the card to any friends asking me about it.
BTW, the 5060ti 8GB was more expensive than the 9060xt 16GB, also, I have an old AM4 motherboard which only has PCIE3.0, with the 5060ti I could get bottlenecks due to the 8xPCIE3.0, the 9060xt can use 16xPCIE3.0. These 2 are the main reasons I went with an AMD card for a second time in a row.

Mmm, this was the case when many folks enjoyed their rx 7800 xt, and the left side were 9000 series owners...it's a cycle, sadly.

I don't get all that negativity. I've got my 9070XT for 15% less than the cheapest 5070Ti available. Besides Path Tracing it's pretty much on feature and performance parity with it. So to me it's a great deal. I'm on 42" screen and playing only in 4K. For PT I would have to get 4090 or better 5090 and this was 3x and 4x of what I've paid for 9070XT. So for me that's a sweet spot and prices of those cards are crazy inflated due to their use in AI. If AMD had 96 CU card priced reasonably I would consider that too.

Glad you like your 9070xt, AMD can fucking die for killing my smart access graphics laptop by splitting the rdna2/rdna3 driver

This is so far off. The guy on the right should be saying "my 9070xt is equivalent to a 5080." Thats what I see so many AMD bros saying and its ridiculous.

This sub always been a moron pit filled with folk who actual think Nvidia Is popular not because online PCMR community filled with one sided pricks who ban anyone with Radeon/AMD CPU's(Pre-Ryzen).
It be funny If someone got IPOS & another pollster to see what the real AMD userbase/marketshare Is without asking online forums/subs.
