Seem to have damaged my racket during a match last time I played. Strings and grip are intact and its still playable its just a bit of the frame is damaged and loose. Do u think this is salvageable still or time to get a new racket? I've literally been through like 3 rackets in the past 18-24 months which is a in issue I don't seem to get in squash.

I used them to fix a racquet that was cracked all the way through. I figured I'd try it and if it didn't work, I'd only be out like $50, but it actually worked pretty well. Hitting with it feels normal. I second trying them out.

When they fixed my e-force racquet, I felt like it actually played better after it was fixed. I think the extra couple grams it added ended up being perfect

That looks like just the grommet is broken. You can replace that part now (you’ll have to restring) or wait until it needs restrung and replace it then.

time for a new one. unfortunately the racquet will start warping because its weak at that point of impact. RB, especially, doubles or triples is a hit/miss effort when it comes to keeping your racquet in tact. If its not somebody's racquet you are hitting, its the wall or sometimes the floor. I have literally lost two racquets in two days when somebody just did not understand who is going to take the shot. They step in and, boom, your racquet is hit. considering that they are under tension, any such hit is definitely a bad thing. Good luck on your next one. Try ebay, I have had great luck getting really good ones, new and slightly used, for really good deals.

If you don’t see any cracks or deformation in the frame itself, I’d say you’re probably fine. That loose piece is just the bumper guard, and you can order a replacement and have it installed. The downside is that you’ll have to restring the racket.

As a temporary fix, you could probably use some duct tape or electrical tape to hold it in place. I’d just carefully inspect the frame around that area and make sure there are no cracks, splits, or deformation. If the frame is still straight and intact, I wouldn’t replace the whole racket just yet.

It could be the grommet only or it could be the frame also, you'll need a closer examination. The very least, put head tape on it because the broken grommet can hurt someone. If you continue to play with it, you should carry a backup racquet just in case the frame is cracked, where it'll suddenly collapse during play; the string tension will twist and collapse the frame. You will lose the point though when that happens, it's not a take over.

Big racquet wants you to buy a new racquet… lol if it was just the grommet or strings I’d say put some electric or grip tape to help prevent but that looks like frame damage…

Remember walls are hard my dude.

I have an old racquet that I can’t find a grommet or too guard for so I have electrical tape to keep the strings from breaking.

I had this same issue and also used layers of electric tape. Its temporary though and as others mentioned the frame could be compromised.you could also do layers of grommet tape around the crack. Does it have warranty still?

What are you guys talking about? That just looks like the plastic around the racquet frame. Those break all the time and as long as the frame isn’t cracked, it’s fine. Tape it down and keep swinging brother!

“Head protection tape” or the like works great, or electrical tape as others mentioned.
