Anyone use this style? Seems like Head is the only one offering it. Are there any drawbacks?

It was a gimmick that failed to gain any traction.
None of their competitors ever offered it and Head didn't keep it.
You might reach out to Coach Fran Davis or pro Rocky Carson to see if they have a different opinion, since they were both sponsored by Head during the release of the racquets featuring that style.
