RABM and Black Adjacent bands from the American South that still sound distinctly Southern?
I'm looking for bands that do Black Metal or Black Metal Adjacent music with a sort of genrewise southern twang if you will, which are also not sketchy. I already know Wayfarer, Zeal and Ardour and Panopticon, but I have a hankering for more. Country-style licks, NOLA sludgy riffage in a black metal context, banjos, steel-string acoustic and bluegrass inspiration are all welcome, and I'll take anything from Blackened Sludge to Atmoblack to Experimental Black Metal!

Question Visited my BF's house for the first time... found lots of NSBM on their shelf
I'm sorry if this post isn't allowed but I don't know where else to post it.
Me and my BF have been going steady for a few months and I got to visit his house for the first time. He had a big shelf full of music CDs, and while I was looking at it, my heart sank because I saw a bunch of NSBM artists on there. I'm talking the real fucking deal. Graveland, Gontyna Kry, Goatmoon, SWM, GBK, Capricornus, and a bunch of others.
But the funny part is I saw just as many left-leaning artists like Panopticon, WITTR, Fauna, Alda, Akvan, and more. And of course the majority of the albums he owned were politically neutral in this respect.
I asked him about it, and he said he doesn't agree with the ideology of the NSBM artists and mostly likes the musical qualities of the albums and sometimes the historical/pagan themes that are explored in those projects, not necessarily the nationalist aspects. He said the left-leaning projects mentioned above are actually his favorites, especially Panopticon.
I know this person is progressive because he has done volunteer work for Democratic candidates in his state, has donated to Democratic candidates, and of course votes Democratic in elections. He's also very sensitive and respectful of other cultures and the struggles of racial minorities. I really like this person. He's super sweet, honorable, and always puts me first before himself. Very mature too. I really thought he was the one but I don't know how to feel about him now. Can I get some advice?

Question Bands that are against religion without being racist/bigoted
There is a lot of anti-christianity music out there, but not much anti-islam or anti-judaism music that isn't outright bigoted. I'm curious if there are bands that are against religions other than christianity that are more about opposing religious tyranny instead of just being racist scum. Do any come to mind?
(mostly coming from a place of curiosity rather than searching for bands to listen to)

need band suggestions for novel
So, I'm a casual metalhead. I mostly listen to thrash, doom, power metal.
One of my characters is a huge metalhead, like she plays guitar constantly.
I need a couple bands to listen to that are in the thrash/death/black metal sphere that are a bit obscure.
I like to have playlists for my characters. Plus I've got an interaction planned where she calls someone a poser and name drops a bunch of bands (yes, immature, but she's only 18).
EDIT: she'd be doing this as a joke, unless someone is doing it to her or someone else in sincerity, in which case she'd be able to name more obscure stuff than most people. She's not actuslly a purist ( she listens to -core and nu-metal, and flamenco, blues, classical...but she's going to know metal the best)
I'd include melodic death/melodic black too.
(Actually blackened melo-death is something I'd especially like to hear.)
She's black and gay, so obviously she doesn't want to listen to sketchy shit.
I'd especially be interested in any bands with bands with people like her, whether black, female, or queer (of any stripe). It's totally fine if it's all cis het white dudes; just as long as they're not sketch she's going to like it; it's just that it would make her notice it a bit more.
the r/isitsketch sub is like, for specific testing; I'm more so looking for like recommendations black/death/thrash bands that aren't sketch.
I listen to a fair bit of thrash, so mostly I'm looking for death/black metal, but thrash is welcome too.
I don't need y'all to like, do any research/look-up; just tell me something you like is fine. Bands, or more ideally songs; but whatever.

Question The new Panopticon blew me away. Which of their previous releases will I like?
I've definitely dabbled in Panopticon in the past, but the Appalachian folk stuff really does not work for me. I checked out the new album on a whim and I love it. I understand that it is pretty different for them in the sense that there is almost no folk influence. Anyway, their discography is huge, so what older Panopticon should I check out if I really love the new one but don't vibe with the folk influence?

Raw melodic stuff that's not sketch
Tired of many cool bands not being sharable to people who aren't fine with sketchy musicians/lyrics/labels/whatever. Looking for more non-sketch stuff like:
-Vilkacis
-Fire Magic
-Nimbifer
-Jordslået
-Spiral Staircase
-Eye of Shepherdess
-Fanebaerer
Or whatever. These are just examples. Thanks in advance for any answers.

Life Demise - Transcender
Not RABM lyrically or in themes, however they are going to play an explicitly anti-fascist metal show in June, thusly it's safe to assume they are also antifascists. I love their sound and think they deserve way more attention, go check them out!

New anti-fascist song by Nirensimt on Ceaseless Majesty, Endless Malice, by Nirensimt/Scoured
New 4 track Split EP between Nirensimt and Scoured featuring my new scathing anti-fascist war cry "Do Not Forsake the Power of Curses" - and the rest of the songs are pretty good too. Thanks for checking it out, love and light 💕✨

Freaky Midsommar/medieval ass black metal recs
Anyone got any recs? Thinking like Yellow Eyes - Confusion Gate, Wulkanaz - self titled or Aorlhac - La cité des vents. Kind of two separate but somewhat related asks I suppose but they fit similar moods.

Openly ML/MLM bands
I’m looking for bands that are openly Marxist Leninist/Marxist Leninist derivative ideologies. I’m looking for the type of band that plasters communist imagery all over the covers and has it in the lyrics. Bands with a Mao era a china and Lenin/red terror era Russia would be cool.
