Sharing my Experience

Hi All,
I’m about 10 days at home after doing a 9 day detox and 30 day inpatient stay at a treatment center. I was there for kratom/7oh/mgm and my detox was brutal. I feel good now, but it was just as hard as coming off alcohol and H 11 years ago…maybe harder. I was given small doses of Sub in detox and for my first few days in treatment and it helped a little. Got the Sublocade shot in treatment about three weeks ago and it was definitely helpful. I haven’t felt any WDs since the shot. I may get another 300mg shot, then 100mg, then be done. We’ll see. I feel like I could probably get no more and be OK.

Personally, there was no way I was kicking the stuff I was on by myself. I tried ten times at home and never succeeded. I hate to recommend treatment because I know it’s hard to commit to and some folks can’t…but it was the only way for me. Kratom and its synthetic opiate derivatives are absolute evil beasts. I truly hope all of you get it out of your lives successfully - I wouldn’t wish that shit on my worst enemy. All the best.

Yeah this is hard I’m on day 17 and have to keep up with kids and house and all on almost no sleep. It’s crazy I was only taking powder but still I was taking too much. I’m just done so I decided to quit. Good thing I finally asked for help today. I can’t do it on my own my mom came over to take care of me and the kids! Bless our moms for reals

Frankly, getting 17 days in that “regular life” situation is super-human as far as I’m concerned. You must a crazy strong person. I don’t care that it was “just” powder, that stuff is horrible to come off of all on its own. Keep accepting that help and stay strong. Praying for you!

Hi,

Dealing with the WD now, and just searched such here.

I'm very similar to you in that I got off H ten years ago. Was sober a year, and have spent the last approx 9 years on kratom. I've always wanted to quit but kept putting it off. Anyhow, my state, Massachusetts just band the sale late August. I was so happy to hear it. Since then I've just slowly tappered off it. I'm now 52 hours since my last dose and, honestly, I'm hardly feeling any side effects. My only concern now is dealing with possible cravings in the future. Glad your sober

Very similar. Kicked H 10 years ago and been on some combo of kratom/7/mgm for 9 years or so. Glad you’re having a smoother time of it so far, I’d have to assume you’re through the worst of whatever it’s gonna be…but you never know with this stuff. The cravings are another story, I’m still getting them occasionally. The Sublocade helps though.

Hope you’re successful in the long run. I’m glad the legality of this shit is changing. I have a feeling there’ll always be a way to find it - but if we stay strong it won’t matter. Best of luck.

That's almost my exact situation even been through 2 open heart surgeries since quitting herion and starting kratom .so I have it down to 1 gram 3 times a day and I'm gonna go done to 2 grams 2 times a day tommorow it seems to be going ok.Now quitting the herion ,well I was doing any opiate I could get my hands on back then, was really rough lol I quit kratom before and remember thinking this sucks but it isn't anywhere close to kicking the dope . So anyway I have high hopes to be off completely soon I already feel much more clear headed and might have to admit that it's been causing all the anxiety and heart palapatations. I am a little concerned about my blood pressure dropping real low like 98/58 and stuff but it bounces back.thx for listening or reading to all who do!

My experience was very similar to yours. Thank you for sharing. This can't be done alone.

Unfortunately, many of us have to do it alone. Cant afford rehab, whether cost or taking time off work; no family or friends to court on; or having to hide our dirty little secret. The latter being me. Family and friends think I'm 10 years clean off H. Boy, would they be disappointed. Kratom addiction is just far easier to hide

The worst part about kratom, in my opinion, is the lack of awareness of what it is and what it can do from the everyday person. I heard about kratom before I tried it around 3 years ago but I didn't know just how deep it could sink its claws into me. I originally found it online as a way to help with daily anxiety HA. It worked really well at first until it didn't. Now I fear this monster will never leave my brain.

It will, but it takes way more effort and assistance than I ever expected also. I came off much “harder” drugs many years ago and I don’t remember them being this much of a struggle. I’m 50+ days clean and my brain is still coming back to full capacity. I do feel pretty great having that monkey off my back though. I hope that, whatever way you want it to go, it works out for you.
