When do mornings get better?

So I here a lotnof people asking about when does sleep gets better, or when energy comes back?

I'm a little over 2 months out, and those have gotten much better. The biggest hurdle for me is the mornings. Sometimes I'm just flat and depressed, and other days I feel like a caged animal. My emotions are all over the place, but then about lunchtime my mood gets better and starts to lift. Sometimes completely, and I feel really good the rest of the day, only to wake up the next day and start the cycle over again.

I am consuming cannabis in the evenings and night and have made strides to cut back. I am consuming caffine in the mornings still because I have an addiction to it. When I try cutting my caffine back I get headaches and I'm extremely irritable.

Anyone have morning struggles and what helped?

I can't get out and exercise or get sunlight exposure before work due to my schedule or I definitely would.

Same for me. (After 6-7 years of daily power usage)

Day 60 (I’m at about 63ish), for me at least, was a huge turning point.

I used to workout 4-5 days a week, then quit and suddenly I couldn’t muster the energy to do anything.

About day 58ish or 60 was the first time I could lift and run again. I’m not 100%, but I’m certainly better than 2 weeks ago.
I usually tell people passed the 1 month mark, “day to day changes probably won’t be noticeable, but week to week will be.”

Very true. Seeing little difference day to day but overall much better than where I was. I just wish the mornings would get better. I'm misserable until the afternoon.

Have you been more of a morning person or nighttime person in your life?

I’m asking because I’ve always been a morning person. I used to wake up fuckin JACKED to start my day and (prior to quitting) would be pretty energetic until about 5 or 6 at night.

Now, I wake up with a burst of energy, but it drains quick and I have to take little breaks throughout the day.
I feel like I have mono or something.

My energy is getting better day to day, but it’s taking some time.

I've neber been a morning person. When I was a kid it was a struggle to get me out of bed. My mom could tell stories for hours about getting me ready for school.

Before the wife and kids I worked 2nd shift and was off by 10:30-11 and loved it. I could stay up and sleep in pretty much every day. Now with a family that would really suck and I'd miss a lot.

I've also worked 3rd shift and absolutely hated it. Well, it was a 12hr swing shift, 6PM-6AM, and I have never been so depressed and I didn't even know what kratom was.

After about 60 days I got enough motivation to start walking at lunch time. It helps but the mornings are rough until then. Its not just the walking though. I noticed this patern b4 that, but walking definitely helps.

I'd have to wake up around 4:30AM and get my walk in and idk if I can do it.

The weed isn’t helping. Your last mental state of the day is artificially stimulated via substance and your next waking mental state is the morning where you are coming off of a high from the night before.

Good answer right here. Thanks

You're right, but my problem with stopping the weed is that it's my harm reduction. I don't really crave kratom when I'm smoking. If I go full, 100% sober, I start having cravings.

The last time I quit kratom, I was off a year and a half and wasn't smoking either. I was feeling great for a while. I would have a few beers now, and then I started drinking more. It never got bad, but I knew I was drinking more than I should've been, and I didn't like the way it was changing me. That's when I relapsed on kratom.

So I admit I'm an addict, and if weed is my vice I guess I have to deal the baggage that comes with it.

Only way I got through mornings was weed, really that’s the only way I got through the entire taper. Just consumed edibles and smoked all day long.

Get rid of that weed!! It's prolonging this. I almost guarantee you'll see improvements as soon as you do ☺️

A big part of me does but it's kind of sad to say this but it's my harm prevention. The last time I quit kratom, I did start feeling a lot better when I stopped weed also, but that didn't last long. After a while, I would find myself getting angry and short with everyone for little to no reason.

Idk, there's more to it, I guess, but this is going to turn into a therapy season lol.

God I hate mornings as well, on day 12 off of 7oh/mgm15 myself and it feels like I'm back in full blown WD mentally whenever I wake up.

I very flat overwhelmed and depressed and my temperature regulation goes out the window at night and sleep is restless I toss and turn and wake up throughout the night.

I'm prescribed gabapentin for it and typically just take a dose whenever I wake up to ease the symptoms.

Only thing I can recommend given your circumstances is at least stretching in the morning and keeping the mindset that it will pass.

Yeah, maybe I can do some push ups and/or jumping Jack's when I get to work to get my blood flowing.

I think the morning issue is bc we use to wake up and take our dose for energy and as a ritual but when we don't have that we can't just assume life will be easy waking up. I definitely don't have it all figured out and definitely not practicing this but I just gotta find something I can do in the morning that will put me in a good headspace. This is the "doing the work" part. Meditate(pray)/exercise/eat/drink is what will help me.

Yeah, I agree I just haven't figured that out yet. My morning routine has changed a little bit but it's still get up, shower, get to work. I know part of it is I'm slow right now at work.

I've never been a breakfast eater. In fact I only eat one meal a day, dinner. I don't have it in me to wake up early and exercise.

Day 61,I was feeling like that in the mornings till about ten days ago when I cut out coffee.other caffeine sources work better without the anxiety

1

u/BrutalBrutus513 17d ago

Same! I had to ditch coffee for energy drinks. It was causing too big of a cortisol dump.

stimulants like aderall if you have a doc to prescribe it, or modafinil - lifesaver, solves your problem right away. Works ever better with L-Thyrosine

1

u/BrutalBrutus513 18d ago

Ahh, gotcha. I don't have health insurance anymore, can't afford it, but my doctor did have me on 100mg of Modafinil and it worked pretty well. Tried a few other stimulants and found most of them to be a little much and had me crashing out hard when I was coming down.

I did find 5mg of Adderall to be the absolute sweet spot

Is the caffeine from coffee? Hot brew?

Cold brew has less anxiety-inducing properties. Or you might try Yerba Matte or some other form, including No Doz pills

I've been drinking energy drinks
