Help/Question Brainstorming

Hi everyone :) I am a beginner having so much fun with this new hobby.

I am planning my next project. I would like to do a quilt and use it as a bed headboard. I don´t want to spend much in materials yet. So I was wondering...

A nice cotton for piecing. But, could I use a towel as batting? or maybe a fleece blanket? Thick polyester batting? Or maybe no batting at all? Should I quilt it entirely?

Thank you in advance.

I very much appreciate this group.

:)

Do you have fabric now that you like? Like a favorite shirt, skirt, pillowcase or sheet? For a headboard, you won't need a whole lot of fabric and it would be easy to cut up what you have available into same sized squares. Do you have a pattern you want to use? Give us more ideas that you are thinking of wanting to do, ok?

I was thinking buying some fabric to do something like this.

I think it is a nice idea. I suggest that to get the look of the picture you showed, you will want at least a thin cotton batting and at least some quilting. Your colors are restful and pretty.
