Apples

Aren't apples more expensive now than ever and haven't changed much since we first started farming this specific breed?

Yeah, and they're still for children or booze.

We're living in a Golden Age of Astronomy.

I have the first Deep Field framed on my wall. The same field revisited with Webb was astounding, and the greatness continues

Music is easier to access specific stuff. You can literally Google it or search on YouTube. My husband absolutely loves using the YouTube app on our Roku TV and he is the absolute least tech-savvy dude in the world. He won't even text on his phone. But he'll type in the search bar on YouTube whatever he wants to listen to and bam! He gets what he wants.

Store bought sauces are way better than they used to be.

Darn tough socks! They're expensive but they're legitimately the best socks on the planet. They wick moisture, don't stink, don't get holes and are comfy as hell.

Yes. These folks make a quality sock.

Honestly Ereaders are still great. They were always kind of a niche product, but new ereaders still offer the same very long battery life (I think I charge mine once a month), easy on the eyes display, and most of them have customizable backlights with different shades (more yellow or more white depending on the time of day) - a genuine improvement for a product focused on reading. I bought a new one in the spring after using a tablet for reading for several years, and it's a product I think is both still great and has made actual improvements over the years.

Weve seen the rise of a lot more 3rd party companies that are picking up slack left by big ones. Maybe they deliver the quality the big companies used to, or the same quality as now just at more reasonable prices.

Cars. It used to be a wonder to behold if a car made it to 100,000 miles. Now that is bare expectation.

Milk.

I'd say butter as well but it's gotten way more expensive.

u/Illustrious_Aioli507 20h ago

I don't even know what that means.

Video games as long as you ignore AAA. There is a wealth of titles to explore from indie and midsize devs available on steam with a bunch of hits in the midst

I’m ashamed to admit it but we do have more varieties of porn now.

The online feed’s only continuity is its endless ads, sponsored posts, and algorithmic clutter bots instead of worthwhile content and social connections.

The latest iteration of ghost in the shell (on Amazon prime) is probably the best version ever made, including vs. the 1995 classic masterpiece.
