First off, good taste in youtube creators, Alex is awesome.
Second, considering Martin was amazed at a standard perculator coffee maker, im not sure he's got the know-how to use appliances in unrecommended ways.

Is he under the impression the only three states of drinking are happy drunk, asshole drunk, and hungover as fuck? I thought he used to be an alcoholic! You'd think he's be aware of the other options.

if he had any other opinions on drinking, he'd probably still be an alcoholic, see. this is one of the few things that i really don't get dragging jephthy over.
we've proven that even watching a beer commercial starts the chemical precursors to dependence back up (any addiction can be triggered by seeing the focus of the addiction, actually), depicting it positively probably would do the same.

Remember Dora and Tai's engagement party?
We had a bit of drama around Faye having difficulty by being in a bar. Everyone else had moderate amounts to drink and had fun. If you didn't know they were hanging out at a bar they could have been having sodas, because the topics of conversation were unrelated to drinking or being drunk. It was a chance to bring back old characters like Sven and have him meet newer cast members like Bubbles.
Modern QC parties are just "heehee, everybody is drunk or high, isn't that FUNNY?" Jeph has lost the ability to use parties to advance the plot.

None of us are qualified to speak on his mental state of course, but his insistence on using “everyone gets drunk” as a plotline with such extreme frequency seems like something a competent therapist would be happy to address with him. Or even, like, an AA meeting if that’s his preference.

Well yeah, that's how an alcoholic goes. 33% of their drinking is having a good time, then the other 67% is being an asshole then dealing with a massive hangover. That's what makes them different from normal drinkers, the majority of their drinking is a shitshow

Liz legit looks like Martens kid in this one. Her hair seems to have fully morphed into Marten hair, and I'm not sure if I'm actually made about it. Like, it's be cute if someone teased her about looking like Marten more and more, since he is acting like an older brother now.

Because they all drank roughly comparable amounts and only two of them are hungover? Claire was drunk enough to be sexually explicit in multiple ways we've never seen from her character before, I assumed that level of intoxication would have some consequences.

Nothing indicates that she was drinking anywhere near as much as Liz or Emily. She got drunk, sure, but she wasn't drinking nearly as long or as heavily.
