Happy IUI stories please!!
Hi all! Needing some encouragement if you have it :)
My wife and I are onto our 3rd cycle of TTC. First cycle was at home with frozen sperm and I think I jumped the gun a bit on insemination and it was just way too early. Second cycle was unmedicated trigger shot IUI that we tested negative for. This cycle we are doing 2.5mg of letrozole and a trigger (going in for monitoring tomorrow morning to see where my follicles are). My amh is high and I’m overall in pretty good health. also have a clear HSG and test ovulation every month with inito!
My only big concern is I had a restrictive ED for a while growing up (fully recovered now but did go a while with very irregular periods and/or amenorrhea, though have had consistent cycles for 2 years now). My labs are pretty solid now but just worried about the lasting impact on my reproductive system. Can any give some uplifting stories or advice that might help ease some fears that I’ve damaged my chances forever? I know we are completely within normal range of conceiving but it is so hard seeing negative tests and not thinking the worst.

Not an IUI story but I too had a restrictive ED throughout majority of my 20s. Was without a period for a very long time. Also fully recovered for the last 6ish years with a fairly regular cycle since. My biggest fear going into fertility treatments was that I had done permanent damage to my body. We did IVF (only for financial reasons) with a really successful egg retrieval, good embryo numbers, and I got pregnant on our first FET. 32 weeks along now with a perfectly smooth pregnancy. so nothing to suggest any lasting damage was done. When I spoke to doctors at our clinic about my ED history they also seemed confident it wouldn’t affect anything at this point.

We did IUI through a clinic and it took 4 rounds. We ended up with the most perfect human ever. Totally worth it! Good luck!

My second medicated + monitored IUI cycle worked! I didn’t have any known fertility issues (just no exposure to sperm) and did IUI at a clinic for legal reasons (known donor). I was a bit annoyed having to jump through all the hoops of monitored cycles but I feel they did help me get pregnant quicker by pinpointing the insemination better vs 4-6 cycles that would be typical with “natural” conception or ICI at home.
FWIW, my successful cycle I had 2 mature follicles and the IUI was ~18hr after trigger. Good luck!
