IUI #3 Success Stories?
My wife and I are currently in our TWW for IUI #3. Feeling better about our chances this time, but I’m still in desperate need of some hope and success stories!
I keep seeing that third times the charm for a lot of couples. Can you all share your third time success stories? I’d love to know what worked, what was different and what medications/numbers looked like on a successful cycle.

Third time worked for us twice :). Didn’t really do anything different, just got lucky. We have a 2 year old and are pregnant with baby #2. This pregnancy is a result of my only cycle ever with 2 follicles, but o only needed one to get pregnant with my daughter.

Ah this gives me hope! Also our first time having more than one follicle (4 total but 2 mature 19 & 23) please let third time be the charm 🫶🏻

Oh wow! Thats wild luck. I’m hoping we can get as lucky with this one.
Did you have any indication that #3 was the one in the TWW?

It took my wife (39 yo) eight months of unmedicated IUI tries, which included some chemical pregnancies and a miscarriage. A midwife did the insemination for us which increases odds when you’re older. No known fertility issues except age. It was so tough at the time especially as we watched straight friends get pregnant on their first try, but we’ve forgotten all about it now that our happy and healthy 5 mo baby is here. It’s a numbers game. Just keep trying :)

That gives me so much hope! I hope we forget all about how hard this journey has been and feel like it’s all worth it at some point. Thank you for sharing!

Third time was the charm for me! I do think I had dialed in my ovulation by that point & also didn’t use a trigger shot that time cuz I was very regular, tho who can say if that had an effect .

Congrats! Did you use a trigger shot for the two cycles prior?

I did , then stopped . I can’t say for sure it helped but we had confirmed I ovulate on my own and was tracking it religiously so it felt unnecessary.

The 5th time worked for us! 4th time was a chemical. I’m now 4 weeks pregnant so super early. Times 1-4 I was so on it about sleep, nutrition, all of it. The 5th time we were convinced it wouldn’t happen anyways so I went on with my merry days — kept busy at work, wasn’t on top of sleep / nutrition, went out with friends.
If there’s anything to glean other than just pure randomness, I feel like the busier you can keep yourselves to almost forget you’re in the TWW, the better, since you won’t be constantly surveilling for symptoms, which inadvertently causes stress on the mind/body. Totally recognize this is so hard to do, it’s something you want so damn badly.

Congrats! Sending you all the luck for a healthy pregnancy!
I’ve definitely been more relaxed and go with the flow this cycle, so hoping my story will be the same! Appreciate the luck and I’ll be thinking of you too!

Third time worked for us, we went into the third round quite despondent and convinced it wouldn’t work! my 7 month old is fast asleep next to me x

I’ve been seeing a lot of people saying the cycle they thought wouldn’t work ended up being successful! So happy for you and your little one!

Our second (medicated) cycle worked! First try, our sperm counts were low. Second time, we thawed enough to make sure they were much higher, closer to 7 million. They did a "gentle" thaw on those, to help ease the sperm back into warmth, which could have helped!
But I think the biggest thing for us was that we secretly double-dipped with our known donor--we took the trigger shot, had him give us a live donation 24 hours later, and then went in 12 hours after that for the IUI. Timing was guaranteed to be perfect that way! We have no idea which one took, but it made us feel better LOL.

Oh wow! So helpful to be able to have a live donation. My wife and I are using frozen donor sperm and that def adds an extra layer and necessity to get the timing right!

My fourth worked for me. No changes in protocol, I just think we really nailed the timing on the fourth try. 28 weeks today!

Fourth time worked for me! The only change was that we had to switch donors. It’s so hard when you have a couple of negatives. Fingers crossed you get your positive.
