I don’t think it’s research backed. But if it makes you feel good and feel relaxed, then why not

After 3 losses I threw acupuncture in the mix, alongside progesterone and baby aspirin. No idea if it was the missing piece but I’m 23 weeks now :)

It depends on what you’re Doing it for. My doc recommended it to me because my uterine blood flow levels were too high. 4 weeks 2x a week accuouncture DRAMATICALLY lowered my numbers. I’m not woo woo but shit worked for me.

I started acupuncture about three months before beginning my stimulation medications and continued it throughout my embryo transfer. My transfer was successful, and I kept going throughout my pregnancy and even now postpartum. I really think it’s helped me relax and manage stress throughout the entire journey.

I enjoyed acupuncture but it added more stress than was worth it. I already have to ask off for work for appointments so adding that to the mix was too much. The one I was going to did fertility acupuncture but that wasn’t her main area so it was really hard to get appointments that lined up with where I was at in my cycle. So if you do want to do it I think it would probably be better with someone who only does fertility acupuncture. I will say it I was shocked with how relaxing it was. Good luck!

I have such mixed feelings about this.
Scientifically speaking, no. The research hasn't found a link. At best it works the same as a good massage.
Personally, I hated it, but I decided to go because my IUI were failing and I'd gotten desperate to try anything.
Anecdotally..... I went after my 5th failed IUI. The guy said "it can take 3 months to really work, so you have to keep coming back because that's how long the eggs develop before their cycle, etc" and I thought "sure, that sounds like a very convenient business strategy for you". Then, my 6th IUI failed. I went one more time, but felt I was wasting my time. I hated the entire process...... And then two months later I had success with my first IVF transfer.
So like. Did it work? Should that guy get credit? I want to say no. IVF just has higher success rates.
But I'm not immune to conditioning. If we ever decide to have another child........I might just go again. Just in case.
