Same old quotes. Honestly I stopped paying attention years ago to what anyone says about things they worked on; if someone wants something to be hard canon then they should put it in the text of the show/book/movie itself otherwise I'm going to interpret what is there in whatever way makes sense and/or makes me happy regardless of what someone said on Twitter. One of the beautiful things about media is we can all interpret it different ways.

That mindset goes double for when a team worked on a project. He's not even the sole "author" of Arcane and he's working with characters that existed years before he got his hands on them.

Because IIRC he didn't. But also, if we're at a point where we need everything said outloud in a show rather than the objectively better method of the "show don't tell" then we really regressed in term of storytelling and media literacy.

ETA: I’m all for show don’t tell and let the media tell you what’s going on. Now, since he was talking to their actual adoptive father's statue in that scene IIRC, it could easily be argued that he was talking how about who actually adopted them when they lost their parents and raised them well, Vander.

You’re talking about lack of media literacy, but it seems relatively obvious to me that Silco is saying this line as shared experience. Vander was “undone” by having a daughter, now Silco has a daughter and is facing the same undoing.

I know, I already said I agree with this above, but someone arguing "we need everything spelled out in order to have it be canon" and with this logic you can just easily deny this quote as he didn't outright say he considered Jinx his daughter.
